I've been searching for you
I heard a cry within my soul
I never had a yearning quite like this before
Now here you are walking right through my door

She looked so sweet and innocent with her hand curved under her cheek and her eyes closed as she slept on through the muggy night. Not even the AC in the room could cool them down.
Nick smiled indulgently as he traced the line of her spine with a gentle index finger. He'd had a few one nightstands throughout his career, and even a couple spent the full night with him.
Only, he never had the urge to tell one of the short-term lovers that he loved them Or that he wondered how he had lived so long without them    Closing his eyes, and snuggling her closer to him, he smiled as sleep claimed him.
It was cool sheets that woke him, and that empty space next to him that had him trembling with nervousness and rejection.
Getting up and checking around the room, and it was the hot rush of tears that greeted his suddenly dismal morning.
Falling back against one of the walls, he let the tears fall heedlessly. There was nothing he could do about them anyway.

All of my life, where have you been
I wonder if I'll ever see you again
And if that day comes, I know we could win
I wonder if I'll ever see you again
A sacred gift of heaven, for better, worse, wherever
And I would never let somebody break you down
Or take your crown, never

He had searched for her. All day and night he did. Ignoring most of his duties and previous engagements.
Instead looking through shop windows and questioning all the workers he could at the hotel.
But no one seemed to know her. Hadn't even see her!
Angrily he found that fitting. His dream girl being an actual dream and just disappearing before he woke.
   Bitter sweetly fitting.
Yet he could still see her so clearly in his mind. The smooth milk color skin and the auburn silk-like hair that ran like raindrops through his fingers.
Sighing in defeat, Nick started heading back for his hotel room. He may not have her, but his memories were still sharp. At least he had that.

All of my life, where have you been
I wonder if I'll ever see you again
And if that day comes, I know we could win
I wonder if I'll ever see you again
I've searched through time, I've always known
That you were there upon your throne
A lonely queen without her king
I've longed for you my love forever

The darkness covered him completely once he stepped back into his room and dejectedly he shut the door slowly behind him. There was no use in turning on the light.
He knew the only sight that would greet him was a now made empty bed. And he knew he couldn't take that sight just yet.
So moving through the darkness, he stepped towards the bathroom. A hot shower was what he needed. Something to calm him down, and make him sleepy.
Hopefully sleepy enough so that he could slip into that deep abyss and dream of her again
Shaking his head, he started turning on the taps and stripping down.

All of my life, where have you been
I wonder if I'll ever see you again
And if that day comes, I know we could win
I wonder if I'll ever see you again
All of my life, where have you been
I wonder if I'll ever see you again
And if that day comes, I know we could win
I wonder if I'll ever see you again

Diligently, his hand rid the glass of the condensation and fog. Then he glared at his reflection. At the red and puffy eyes.
Rubbing at them reflexively, Nick wandered off, tugging gently at the white towel wrapped too tightly at his waist as he stepped back into his room.
Sighing, he sat upon the bed, ignoring the fact that he was getting it wet with his towel, and flipped on the lamp.
Tiredly running a hand down his face, he grabbed for the water bottle in the duffel bag at his feet, and started guzzling the warm water.
He jumped when a small warm hand touched the center of his back, causing him to drop the water bottle onto the floor.
Turning sharply, he was ready to shout the hotel down when he saw the face looking up at him. The clear emerald eyes and silky auburn hair His breath caught in his throat as a shaky hand touched her face, relishing in the creaminess of her skin.
Sighing again, he closed his eyes and settled his lips on hers. Sending his turmoil emotions in his actions straight to her.

I wonder if I'll ever see you again...
