Long Island Rail Road Pictures
Hicksville yard off of John St. c.1980
The sketch shows an engine on the same siding as the caboose on the left in photo.  Track photo shows yard spur back to mainline.
Stock cars along Long Island Ave. c.1980
View looking West of Wellwood Ave. (facing towards picture below) just West of Pinelawn Station.
Oyster Bay Station c.1979
View looking West at old Oyster Bay Station from end of line.  The ground where the tracks are is now all paved.  A new station was built further West and the old station is now closed awaiting renovation as a train museum.
New Highway crossing at Republic c.1980
View looking West across New Highway, Farmingdale.  Only the building on the right remains today.  The new Aiport Plaza shopping center would be to the left of where the water tower stood.
LIRR Locomotive #35 when it was at Mitchell Field.
Sketch was made in 1979, photo taken in 1982.  #35 was still visible on cab when sketch was made.  I used to play on this when it was on display at Eisenhower (then Salisbury) Park in Westbury (it can now be found in pieces undergoing restoration near Oyster Bay Station above)
February 2007 Oyster Bay Railroad Museum move of historical cars from Mitchel field.
