Blacksmithing
Ok now I know you're thinking, What can snowflakes possibly have to do with Blacksmithing.  Well in Blacksmithing snowflakes are used for combining with......LOL I'm just kidding.  They have absolutly nothing to do with Blacksmithing I just think they look pretty :-)

Anyways, Blacksmithing is one of the most information filled skills in EverQuest.  By that I mean there is alot of information on Blacksmithing.  The site that I've found that most comprehensively covers Blacksmithing is
EQ Traders.  We'll start with the introduction.

Introduction

Blacksmithing is like most other skills in that you combine ingredients in a forge (see the Supplies Locations below for locations of forges) and if successful you get something new, a weapon, some armor or some skewers for your next barbeque.  The introduction I liked best was at
EQ Traders.  To go directly to the introduction go to

www.eqtraders.com/learn/learn_smithing.htm

Recipes and Trivials

In my Blacksmithing resources I like to use multiple recipe lists, all of which include at least some trivials and come from
EQ Traders.   Rather than me retyping all the links just go to the following link and click on the various recipe lists and you should find what you are looking for.  If you are a new Blacksmith start with The Basics and then move on to Tools and Implements.

After you have mastered basic Blacksmithing move on to Advanced Smithing Recipes which can be found at

www.eqtraders.com/secrets/recipes_smithing_advanced.htm

And the final list which I feel deserves it's own mention is Cultural Smithing Recipes.  There are many various cultures that can do cultural blacksmithing.  However, all  cultural blacksmithing must be done by the race listed and must be done in a race specific forge which can be found in the race's starting/home city.

To get to the Cultural Smithing Recipes directly go to

www.eqtraders.com/secrets/recipes_smithing_cultural_main.htm

That page has links to race specific cultural recipes.

Blackmithing Supplies

The list of Blacksmithing supplies that I use is also at
EQ Traders.  This list includes information on where the forges are, where to buy flasks of water (you will be using alot of water), molds and other blacksmithing equipment.  It can be reached directly at

www.eqtraders.com/location/smithing.htm

Dyed Armor

Higher skill Blacksmiths can make fine steel plate armor and dye it to a color of their or their customer's choosing.  The first thing you need to do is either make or buy the dye.  To make the dye one must first make the dye extract and the catch with that is you have to be either a Shaman or a Rogue to make the extract.  However, any character can make the dye itself by combining
1 extract of the selected color with 1, 2 or 3 resins depending upon the shade of color desired.

For more on dyes please see, once again,
EQ Traders.  To get directly to the dyes information go to

www.eqtraders.com/secrets/recipes_dyes.htm

This page includes complete information on dyes including recipes, where to find the special ingredients required to make the extracts, color samples of the dyes and how to dye the armor after you have the actual dye.  (Not the extract, using the extract will not work)

To go directly to the page that says where to find the dye components please see

www.eqtraders.com/secrets/recipes_find_dye.htm

Blacksmithed Weapon and Armor Stats

EQ Traders also includes lists of the Stats for Blacksmithed items.  To go directly to the Smithed Weapon Stats please see

www.eqtraders.com/secrets/recipes_smithing_weapon_stats.htm

To go directly to the Smithed Armor Stats please see

www.eqtraders.com/secrets/recipes_smithing_armor_stats.htm

Well that's all that I have for Blacksmithing right now.  As always, I am looking for additional, new, and up to date information.  If you know of any additional information or sites on Blacksmithing or any of the other skills please email them to me at the address below.  Thanks :-)
