Temperament consider it always before you buy a dog

Temperament is a priority when you are talking about the larger breeds of dog.
With any Breed large or small, it is so important to Learn all you can about the breed you are looking into. All of its' pros and cons.
They are a long-term investment monetarily and emotionally. Someone to be responsible to and for.
There dog shows and Specialties where you will be able to see a large group of the breed you are researching. Meet breeders and find one you can trust. Someone you can develop a working relationship with for the life of your new family member
With Giants temperament has nothing to do with coat texture or country of origin as some people may believe.
Pets or Show dogs Temperament has more to do with the following
The Breeders breeding program aims and goals

Temperament of the bloodlines used

Age you get the dog

Your own household situation at the time

Time invested in its the care and attention

Training or lack of Training

Socialization

Ok so you have decided to get a giant...

This puppy or dog has just joined your pack. That is how he sees it. Use it to your advantage always. By Nature dogs tend to form hierarchical social groups and you are considered the leader of the pack. If you give loads of praise at the correct times, you'll reinforce desirable behavior.

It is very important that the pup not only to listen to you. Assign tasks from the smallest to the tallest. Mom, Dad, Kids, live-in extended family too! Feeding, taking potty, teaching small tasks, come, stay, down, giving treats, teach them all the correct way to reprimand and praise the dog. It is so very important when you have a large animal in your home to be able to control it and starting young is the best way. When your puppy gets in and out of his crate, when he comes after you call him, and when he does his duty in the right place, tell him how perfectly wonderful he is. When he's been naughty, a very firm No! Obedience classes are great. For show dogs we have a few alternative commands. Obedience and conformation classes also are great places for your pup to meet new people and dogs.

Remember that mostly dogs are people pleasers. Remain positive and, they'll want to do right by you. They very much want your approval. Dogs, especially puppies, thrive on routine. If you stick to a strict schedule of meals, walks, sleep and play, both you and your dog will know what to expect. Watch the pup closely and you'll know exactly when your dog will to go. Then you'll be prepared to get him outside in plenty of time so keep a leash and coat handy, avoiding those accidents and developing good habits.

Remember that puppies run like clockwork, and they have to relieve themselves at specific times.

Socialization is so very important! Let your pup meet people and kids. Take them to the pet stores that allow it parks and playgrounds. Around the neighbors and meet people. NOT BEFORE THEY HAVE HAD ALL THE SHOTS!
