Costa was born in Russia and for most of his life did not even know of RUGBY. Coming to NZ and then Australia changed that perception. His Mum now wishes he had never found out about GRIDIRON.
When he was a lad he worked in the family pie shop in Kaliningrad. Food was scarce but they always managed to serve the meatiest pies. Not only did the population get fat - but the population actually dropped by several thousand. This caused the authorities to investigate the family 'people pies' which turned out to be especially meaty. Costa was forced to flee his native country in search of better lands. But he had to settle for Australia. He is now hoping to open his own car wrecking yard with the motto "Have a pie while we wreck your car!" |
