Regrets

Hearing the whispers of the undead,
So many things left unsaid.
Hung up on what should have been done,
So preoccupied, nothing shows of a once warm sun.
The awe of life lost in time
Lost forever to a life full of humanities crimes.
Dignity and honor are things of the past,
All but replaced by egos and masks.
Take time to know thyself and have no regrets,
Remember when you meet someone new--there is a reason why you met.
Look for good in all and you will surely find
The only thing you will have in the end is a sudden peace of mind.
Stupid Little Things

So you say you want to be with me.
Here's some advice, better take heed.
I won't stand idly by and watch with open eyes,
As slowly but surely, you put into effect the events of my demise.
I won't try to change who you really are,
So trying to change me won't get you very far.
I don't need a constant shadow to take on my blame;
But be advised, I will not play that hot/cold game.
If you want to be my only one,
Loosen up baby, try to have some fun.
To show me that in my arms is where you really want to be,
Make me feel your intentions by doing stupid little things.
Call for no reason but to say that you care,
Compliment my eyes and the length of my hair.
Send flowers or perhaps a cute little card,
and remember your dealing with someone who's scarred.
I know I am not that feminine, but remember I am still a girl,
And it's the stupid little things that will bring us together in my stupid little world.
Two Become One

Here is a toast to my greatest of friends
May your lives be sweet until the very end.
May your lives be filled with joy and hope,
And in hard times, lean on each other to cope.
Be good to each other and remember compromising is key,
And may god bless you with the most beautiful babies.
God Bless you and keep you for all coming days
May your eyes always be filled with that beautiful lovers haze
Take care of each other with all that you do,
And if you ever need anything, you know who come to.
Your paths have lead up to the people that you have become....
So we now raise our glasses to two beautiful people who have now become one.

**This poem is dedicated to my amazing friend Marge and her kick-ass husband Jake.  I love you both and thanks for everything.
This Family of Ours.....

Beautiful child welcome to the living;
The wisdom of my years is what I am giving
I can't promise a world of prosperity and peace
But I can tell you when your heart is broken, the pain will one day cease.
I can't tell you that all people are good,
Truth is, some people don't do as they should.
Anger and mistrust lead their ways of life
But know that living this way only creates strife.
If you treat people with respect and if you always try to do what is right,
This will surely bring about happiness and show you your eternal insight.
Always ask questions and make sure you know where your thoughts are based,
Know that your thoughts and actions will always deepen the triumphs and conflicts you will face.
Your reaction to life's inevitable problems will influence who you will become,
So listen to you own heart and let it be the beat of your own drum.
Remember cousin, family is most important here,
We are the people that will always be there.
One note on life in our family group,
You'll never have any secrets, everyone tells everything in this loop.
Don't be afraid though, there is nothing to fear.
We will show you what love is and we will teach you how to care.
The individual you will become will be held with the highest respects.
Love, honor, and trust is what you can come to expect.
Make no mistake, it can be overbearing and seem strange to some,
But you'll know soon who to turn to when troubled waters come.

My Words

Caution!!  My words are a picture book into my life.
The world according to Mia, neither wrong nor right.
My words are based on the feelings that I have felt,
All representing the cards that I have been dealt.
They encompass not one individual or one period of time;
These are my inner thoughts, just expressed creatively in rhyme.
If you have somehow changed my path or insight into me,
Chances are, I have written it down and part of me was then set free.
Make no mistake, these words are of life's highs and lows....
My happiness, my loneliness, my friendships, and my foes.
True honesty cannot be expressed through just simplistic lines,
This is my eternal impact, my footprints in the delicate sands of time.
Life

"Tell me Mia, what do you think life should be?
I will tell you in order to be free, you must open your eyes to see
Life is too short to be living like slaves,
We work all day and cant take any of our profits to our graves.
Ants Marching to and frow without the slightest conception of wasted time.
Just keep marching man, you had better stay in line.
I can see what lies ahead in the above mentioned life
All work, no play, a spirit-breaking life full of strife.
With all this said, I ask can it really be done?
Can the spirit be free enough to dance with the earth, the water, and the sun?
My ideal situation in this life is just this
A cabin in the mountains, the surrounding grass kissed with mornings dew mist.
Mountains and ocean and the beautiful stars to count at night,
Being completely in-tune with nature, teaching children to admire such a sight.
And if my internal voice prompts me to stay right where I am at,
Peace will find me soon enough if I truly believe in just that.
Happiness is merely an achievable state of mind,
And to walk my chosen path, all I have to do is look deep inside.
So youve asked me what we should do with the lives that we lead
And my answer is as simplistic as can nature can be
Do as your spirit tells you to when focusing on how to live,
And most importantly, remember Its not what youve got, its what you give.
