Heath O'Loughlin: Well Giaan, another amazing atmosphere here - what are you thinking looking out to this crowd?
Giaan Rooney: It's fantastic to see the turn out that we've had today, I mean it makes us so excited, we get to have so much fun - working on the crowd and really showing our
appreciation towards what everyone's come out to see us come home.
Heath O'Loughlin: What's the feeling like within the whole Australian team at the moment?
Giaan Rooney: Everyone's really excited at the moment because we get to come home [laughs]. We've been travelling for 24 hours, it's been a really long trip and a big campaign but coming
home to this makes it all worthwhile.
Heath O'Loughlin: What about you on a personal level, How happy are you?
Giaan Rooney: I'm pretty disappointed at the moment, actually, I had really high expectations going into the Comm Games and
it didn't come off but we're hoping everything will come together by Pan Pacs and we'll see what can happen there.
Heath O'Loughlin: So what next? What do you do to try and reset mentally ... to try and get up for the next one?
Giaan Rooney: Ah... Try and get as much rest as possible, we're going home and hopefully sleep for about 24 hours! [laughs]
And I'll be back in the pool tomorrow morning, just trying to get the stroke back together and try and gets as much rest and try and just get organised again
and mentally prepare yourself for racing again.
Heath O'Loughlin: When you say it's disappointing do you put that out of your mind now and just move on?
Giaan Rooney: Yeah... you kinda give yourselves about 16 hours - 24 hours just to try and deal with it, go through everything - possibility of what went wrong, try and
learn something from it and then you've just gotta try and put it out of your mind and just start racing again. It's a week of racing, so if your mentally down for one, your
mentally down for all of them, but you've really just got to try and move on at the end of the day.
Heath O'Loughlin: Good on you Giaan, best of luck for the next one
Giaan Rooney: Thanks very much.
