SUPER G - GIAAN ROONEY FAN SITE

TRANSCRIPT - CH 9 INTERVIEW WITH GIAAN ROONEY AND ELKA GRAHAM AFTER THEIR 200M FREESTYLE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS SEMI FINAL.

Sidenote: This was the day after the 4x200m relay.

Interviewer is Duncan Armstrong,swim champion and now Ch 9 commentator, who was poolside after the race.

Duncan: Well congratulations girls, fantastic swim, you first Giaan - Are you happy with that swim, almost a PB.

Giaan: Yeah, it's not too bad, I mean we expected it to be a fairly fast final and as Elks and I just both said, it's a bit slower that what we expected, so y'know we're just glad to be in there with a chance. We're both sorta a bit sleep deprived so we're goin' home for a sleep!! [grins]

Elka: [grins]

Duncan: Was it hard to get up for tonight? Y'know you would have been very very excited to be in the semi finals and now your in the final. You must feel pretty good

Elka: Yeah we are. Look, it's a progression and this is whats happened and yeah ...ah... y'know, we're happy. The semi final number 2 still to go, but we're pretty confident we'll get into the final [smiles].

Duncan: Okay, Congratulations girls, thankyou very much.

Giaan: Thankyou!

Duncan: Back to you Ray!
