The 2001 Queensland Sportswomen awards were held in Brisbane last Tuesday 13th November.
In what might have been a nice early birthday present, Giaan won the Courier-Mail sponsored Junior Encouragement award.
The Sheraton Hotel was a whos-who of Queensland Sportswomen with golfer Carrie Webb taking out the major award.
On a some what lighter note :) The Gold Coast Bulletin reported on a 'handful
of exceptions who misunderstood the concept of black tie' but, 'Rooney shone as the evening's
best dressed nomination...' ;-)
