CELEBRITIES will come under a different kind of spotlight tomorrow with a day out at the races.

The Carlton Draught Caulfield Guineas Day, the first raceday of the Caulfield Cup Carnival, will be a visual feast for fashion followers with the Chadstone Fashion Stakes and the Celebrity Parade set for a debut.

The parade, featuring Olympic gold medallist Giaan Rooney and All Saints' Alexandra Davies among others, will showcase the latest in racewear from the Chadstone shopping centre and Kasmo Designs millinery.

International model and Caulfield fashion ambassador Gail Elliott will be a judge in the lucrative Chadstone Fashion Stakes, with registration for competition hopefuls opening at 11am.

Both events, hosted by Blue Heelers actor Simone McAullay and Wheel of Fortune host Steve Oemcke, will be staged in the Chadstone Fashion Pavilion, on the south side of the main grandstand.

Olympic gold and bronze medallist Chantelle Newbery will also hit the runway in the Celebrity Parade with husband and Olympic diver Robert Newbery by her side.

Chantelle said she was looking forward to playing dress-ups, and it appears trend over comfort rules the roost in her fashion form guide, suggesting: "Throw comfort out the window when it comes to the shoes and decide on a pair that suits the hat."

Lauren Newton, Olympic gold medallist Drew Ginn, Magpie Brodie Holland and Melbourne Storm's Billy Slater will also dress-up for the Celebrity Parade, which will start at 2pm.
