Sean Connery with Catherine Zeta-Jones � sure, I believe it! HAHAHAHAHA!
Is it possible for Connery to be in a film these days without becoming a cartoon? I dunno � look at Brando. Perhaps aging male screen icons have no choice but to accept caricature. I'd sure like to see Connery in a movie he believes in. He reminds me of a heavyweight champion setting up cakewalk fights to avoid the nobility and integrity of a real brawl.
The story's mildly interesting only due to Zeta-Jones' role as a duplicitous double agent. Is she a good guy or a bad guy? Sure, I can believe she can backflip her way successfully across a room filled with 20 invisible laser beams. Sure, I believe these two master art thieves can thwart $20 mil in high-tech security, the FBI and an entire Army. Sure, I believe she can reset the atomic clocks of a worldwide network of supercomputers and then hack into their database.
Did I say cartoon?
At the end, even the filmmakers surrender to the silliness, making Connery and Zeta-Jones vanish into thin air as a train passes by. It's a bad sign when even the director can't take it seriously.
