The cartoon is in honour of me receiving my Income tax refund this week...also my funny way of letting Rev. Can know that I greatly prefer the 5% tax rate in Korea vs. the disgusting amount we pay back home.

It's Friday night and I'm sitting around my little apartment.  A new "PC bang" just opened in my building so I figured I'd come down and check it out.  It's funny cause I was just thinking that even though there's like six PC rooms within a block of my place, I really didn't like the two-minute walk over to one of em.  Now I only have to go down 3 floors to use the Internet...maybe eventually they'll open one right in my bathroom and I won't have to get off the toilet to get online...dare to dream.

But enough about me....I just read my home town's newspaper... Real exciting news in Winnipeg.  I just read the top story and... I can't believe it....the Premier has moved into a new house... MY GOD that's exciting!!!  They've got a picture of the house on the front page and everything!

Well enough sarcasm... I finally got some pictures developed.  Most of them are just scenery (pretty boring), but some of them aren't bad.  But the buggers didn't develop any of the ones I took of my apartment...after I cleaned up and everthing.  I can see them on my negatives, so what's the deal?

Either way, I haven't put any up on web site yet.  I see that there's a scanner here, but I can't muster up the strength to walk all the way to the elevator and go up the three floors back to my apartment to get em. Maybe if I were closer...

I was talking to my sister this week and she says that all I ever talk about on this web site is about drinking.  I guess I should try to find something else to talk about....hmmm.  Anyone want to hear about what was on Ally McBeal this week.... Anyone? Anyone? I guess not...might as well stick to what I know.

I was down in Hongdae last weekend (big surprise), and I managed to find myself a Caesar (if you're not Canadian don't worry about it). Actual Clamato juice flown in from Canada!  I had the bartender throw a little in my beer for old times sake.  Not only that, but he had some Molson Canadian so I told him that I'd pay the outrageous price  if he'd snap a couple photos of me with his digital camera and he obliged.  I should be able to throw those up...

I think I need to get myself a digital camera...a friend of mine, from Winnipeg, came to Korea two weeks ago and he's already emailed me a whole bunch of pictures.  Amthinking it's a good investment but I'm a little apprehensive about spending a bunch of money to get a manual in Korean...but I've been asking around and I should be able to get one for less than $600 that has English  instructions and software.  I was walking around one night this week, in search of food, and I came across some people from my building sitting on a patio drinking beers...I thought cool, there's nothing I like better than sitting on patio in the summer time.

I thought it was pretty cool though, cause after a couple of the people left it was just four of us sitting around the table.  A Canadian, a Brit, a Nigerian, and a South African...sure made for some interesting conversation.

The kids at my school just wrote a big placement test last week.  Just when I get everyone in my classes' name memorized, there gonna start moving people around.  Ah well, there's a new teacher starting next week so I guess they would've moved people around anyways.

I don't know what I'm gonna do this weekend.  My buddy that just came here from Winnipeg said he might come into Seoul.   It was a holiday in his province today, but I'm thinking that since I haven't heard from him yet that he never made it out of the pub.  I thought, that if nothing else, I might take a trip up to the DMZ this weekend.  They have tours of the border between North and South Korea.  Apparantly it's the most heavily defended border in the world...makes you wonder why you'd want to go visit it but I hear it's interesting and it's really not far from where I am.

For anyone keeping tabs on me...yes I finally washed my floor.  The floor looks so good, I think I might do it again some time before another three months passes.  Yes! that's right, come Monday I'll have been here three months.  No, I haven't got the language memorized yet, or anywhere near it for that matter. But, I still learn new words and phrases everyday and I'm pretty confident that eventually I'll get it down.  At the advice of my tutor, I'm treating it like a hobby and learning it a little bit at a time in my spare time.

Who knows....
