Friday afternoon here.  Yes, I'm home on a Friday afternoon.  I had to break the streak at 14 months of consecutive days worked without a sick-day or vacation.  Not something that I consciously chose to do.  The decision was made for me, last night, sometime about 10pm, when i figured that a chicken burger from Popeye's was still OK to eat after it had sat out for about 2 hours...I won't be doing that again.  I've spent a lot of the time since 5am in the bathroom....I'll spare you the details.  I guess they have eggs in their Mayonaise here cause I've done that before in Canada and gotten away with it.  Oh well, whatever doesn't kill me... (you know the adage)

I see that even though I bought a computer I still haven't managed to make any more than a monthly update since the last one.  Although, who knows if anyone still reads this anyway?  I used to get people reminding me, and I don't anymore...loser that I am.

I have been spending most of my free time on this computer, though, downloading TV shows, movies, and anything else i can get my hands on.  No porn though...well maybe a little.  I did find and burn off every single Seinfeld episode ever made.  That is, if the names are correct on the files.  I haven't yet found the requisite 60+ hours to check 'em all.  As I was surprised to find out that there were 180 episodes.

Things at school are the same.  I went through a little spell last week where I was grouchy with the kids.  Things that I would usually laugh off, I was tossing out students and hacking points off of their quizzes.  My buddy Bret thinks I need a vacation, but I was back to normal this week.  Picking on students, hurling chalk brushes at them, anything to keep em laughing.

I started studying at University again, yesterday.  I figure I must have learned more than I thought during my absence, because i was able to understand the teacher pretty well yesterday in class.   I had pretty good study habits until my brother and I moved in together.  I guess that it stands to reason that you won't have as much sitting-around-doing-nothing-time when someone else lives with you.  So, anyways I'm back studying from 9-1pm and then making the hour commute back to Ilsan to teach 4-9pm.  I can't remember if I mentioned, but they changed the teaching hours.  So, now I only work 4-9 but get fewer breaks.  I suppose it works out the same.

I guess that with school, I won't be taking a vacation for another 3 months.  I had thought about going to Beijing during the long weekend next month.  However, I figure that with SARS being prevalent in China, it may not be a good idea to travel there right now.  I heard mention that there were some cases reported in Seoul, but I still haven't seen that confirmed in a paper.  Wouldn't surprise me with the proximity....either way it's scary.

I just took a break from writing this to watch ?Jeopardy.  I hadn't seen that show in a long time.  It's nice being home on a weekday.  I'll even get to watch the new Survivor later.  I had never really watched it before, except for an occasional episode here and there.  My brother likes it, so we've been downloading the episodes and watching them on the computer.  I have found that it is pretty interesting when you watch it from the beginning.

For more exciting news, I reserved a flight home for the end of July.  I'll be arriving in Canada (Kelowna) on the 25th, attending a cousin's wedding, and then flying to Winnipeg on the 28th.  I'll spend 2 weeks at home and then be coming back to Korea to finish my contract. Anything after that I haven't yet decided.  I was even planning on going to We-fest while I'm there.  We'll see who else  wants to go.

Although, these flights are on Air Canada.  So we'll have to see if the airline goes bankrupt, not to much of a stretch considering the news I've been reading.  More likely the government will bail 'em out again.  I was even thinking of buying some stock considering it's at all time lows, but I doubt I will.  I want to sever my ties to Canada rather than add more.  I even went out and got a Korean driver's license.  My International license had expired.  Funny, how my Korean license cost me $10 and is good for 10 years while those jerks in Winnipeg charge me $50 a year even with a merit discount.

That's about all I can do today.  I'll have to make another trip to the bathroom soon.  I guess I won't be eating at Popeye's for awhile.  Keep in touch all.  I know July is still a way off, but I'm looking forward to it.
