Current:
Melanie has been married to fellow GHS alumni Ben Lucero since 1997. Ben
works for PBS & J as a CAD Designer. Melanie is a Sales Manager for the
Luxor.
Her hobbies and interest consist of
anything outdoors. She loves kickboxing, yoga, traveling, music and
volunteer work for the Inner-City Games Program. Spending time with her
husband and attending entertainment events in
Las
Vegas (sports, concerts, and Las Vegas shows).
Favorites:
Melanie�s favorite subject in high school
was drama. Her favorite teacher was Ms. Dutcher. Her best memory of
high school was winning Super Star Girl at camp in
Albuquerque
in 1989 and going to participate in the St. Patrick�s Day Parade in Dublin,
Ireland.
Embarrassing Moment:
The most embarrassing moment for Melanie
was during her Senior year taking the most ungracious fall down the stairs
in Jockville. What made it worse is the clapping Freshmen and the fact that
there was no excuses, like bad weather. This, of course, was a beautiful,
clear day. Just a moment of elegance.
Going Back:
Melanie�s blast to the past would consist
of spending the day with all her favorite teachers. Ms. Peterson, Coach
Horacek, Mrs. Shirley, Mrs. Burns, Ms. Dutcher, Ms. Gutierrez, and Mrs.
Papponi. She�d make sure and throw Coach Davidson out of class instead of
him throwing her out and she did put a suck up disclaimer, but we know she
really would. She�d make sure Tammy Porter would get a 3.0 so they
wouldn�t have to stick her in the the trunk to sneak her off campus for the
lunch hour. Oh, come on Mel that�s the whole fun of being a young,
claustrophobia and of course watching the people crawl out of the trunk at
Pizza Hut is always enjoyable also. She also wanted to say she was sorry to
Tammy for the scars left on her forehead in these eventful getaways. She�d
go watch the Pirates team kick Academy�s butt. Win State Competition at the
Pit against the St. Pius Pom-Pom team. Of course cruise Sonic, Lotaburger
and Alco without being harassed by the GPD. Then she�d end the day partying
up at the Oaks. Wow, I�m tired just thinking about it.....
Travels:
Melanie visited most major metropolitan areas in the US and
Mexico City. She has also lived in Albuquerque, NM, Las Vegas, NV,
Memphis, TN, Horn Lake, MS, Shreveport, LA, Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Miami, FL
and Clearwater, FL.
