Buddha Bathing day
Each year Fo Guang Shan will celebrate the birthday of the Buddha. The celebration is symbolising that the Buddha came to earth and shows us the way to liberation. Buddha Bathing day: at the ceremony you get the oppertunity to bath the buddha. Its meaning is the wash the three poisons of human nature away. Greed, anger and ignorance. Hoping that this symbol of bathing the buddha, will cary us to overcome the three poisons in a wise way.
Catch the snakes in a wise way, and you will enjoy the snakes. The three poisons can be very dangerous when we are not mindfull when we try to catch it. When we grab the snake by its tail, the snake will just turn around and bite us. But when we catch the snake in a better way around his neck then he won't be dangerous for us..........

Knowing the better way to catch a snake........

In the Amsterdam, The Netherlands, was a celebration too. I made some pictures of the celebration.
