Part 10:

(Koemi and Kananno are still kissing in the street, all the main agents of GH! Onlooking and smiling, when a horrified Loki races over)
LOKI: Get your hands off my man! (pushes in between them) Oh! Kan, love! She’s diseased you!
KOEMI: HEY!
KANANNO: Loki! She hasn’t diseased me! (smiles and gazes lovingly at Koemi) She’s made my dreams come true... (grins) at least the PG rated ones...
(Koemi giggles and blushes and Loki glares at her)
LOKI: You don’t know where her lips have been! Besides she almost killed you! And look what she let happen to Rei!
(Keiko and Omi come over)
KEIKO: Loki! Back off! And that’s an order!
LOKI: But...
KOEMI: You heard what Keiko said.  Back off! (moves closer to Kananno and puts her arms around him)
KEIKO: Report back to Headquarters and make sure the other units are told of this situation. You go with her, Omi.
OMI: Yes, Ma’am
(Omi walks off, followed by a reluctant and furious Loki)
KEIKO: And as for you two...
(Koemi and Kananno look at her almost frightfully)
KOEMI AND KANANNO: Yes ma’am?
KEIKO: (grins) As you were....
(Keiko winks at them and goes off to check on Rei)
KOEMI: (softly) now where were we?
KANANNO: I believe you were going to make my non-PG dreams come true... (he kisses her)

(Loki and Omi are in GH1, alone, the others not having arrived from the Lower world yet.  Loki is pacing back and forth mumbling to herself and Omi is sitting on the reception area couch buttoning up his shirt, the obvious has happened)
LOKI: I can’t believe it! Kananno, the man of my dreams with HER?!?!
OMI: (standing up and wrapping his arms around her waist and resting his head on her shoulder) I thought i was the man of your dreams?
LOKI: (absently) yeah, yeah... but Kananno... (she sighs)
OMI: (moving away and sitting back down on the couch and tieing his shoes) You really like him...
LOKI: Like... that’s not the word...
OMI: (angrily) Than what is? Obviously you liked me, otherwise we wouldn’t have.... (pauses) What are your feelings towards him? Love? Lust? What?!?
LOKI: (turning towards him and clenching her fists) Shut up! You’re nothing more than a toy! A mere plaything! I was imagining you were Kananno the whole time! If i didn’t need you for my mission i would have... (she stops)
OMI: Your mission?
(Loki doesn’t respond)
OMI: What does that mean? Loki? (he stands up and grabs her shoulders shaking her) Answer me!
LOKI: LET GO! (she hits him hard across the face and he falls backwards)
OMI: What the hell?!? (Holding his face)
LOKI: (realizing what she has done) Oh, Baby... (walks over and holds him against her chest like an infant) I’m sorry, Omi-Love... It’s just... (pauses, thinking of an excuse) it’s just been a long day...
OMI: (happy to be anywhere near her chest) I understand...
LOKI: Forgive me? (gives him a sexy smile and hugs him closer)
OMI: o...oof...of course...
LOKI: Good. (letting him go and stepping back) Now, shouldn’t we get to those phone calls?

(At the hospital, Rei is lying unconscious on the bed and Kananno comes in alone and sits by her side)
KANANNO: Hey Rei-Rei... (pauses and looks at her with tears in his eyes) The doctors... (starts sniffling) The doctors say you might not make it.  They say that we didn’t get you back in time... That it’s up to you now, you have to decide if you want to come back.  (pauses) I hope you do... for all our sakes.  (he smiles and sighs with tears in his eyes) Hey, remember the time that Koei turned into a vampire? You were the only one who realized how hard it was for me to fight her off... You were the only one who knew how i felt about her... You told me to just take my time and let her decide her feelings for me and not to rush in.  I think that was the best advice i’ve ever gotten.  Did you see us today Rei? She kissed me.  I told her i loved her and she kissed me.  She didn’t laugh... (he starts breaking down, completely sobbing now) She didn’t laugh... just like you said she wouldn’t.  You told me... (Koemi enters and puts her hand on his shoulder)
KOEMI: Shhh... Kan... (she hugs him) It’s ok... Rei’s going to come out of this.  She’s too strong not to.  Remember the time we were trapped in that amusement park? We thought we were gonners, but Rei came.  She fought all of those creatures off with her Karate action. She was completely silent the whole time... she didn’t utter a word... she just fought and fought and fought, until she rescued us. She’ll do the same thing to the vampirism.  She’ll fight it silently until it’s gone... You just have to trust her...
(Gonjen, who has been listening to everything in the shadows now steps into the light)
GONJEN: Rei... is my daughter...
(Koemi and Kananno look up in surprize)
GONJEN: If she dies... (He clenches his fists)  It’ll be my fault...
(The machiene Rei is hooked up to starts beeping and making erratic noises while Rei spasms on the bed)
KANANNO: SHIT! NURSE! (he jumps up and runs outside of the room) WE NEED A DOCTOR OR A NURSE IN HERE!
(the doctor and a nurse run in and order the 3 out while they start doing stuff to Rei)
GONJEN: (head bowed, a single tear runs down his cheek.) All my fault...
(A beeping noise comes from Koemi’s Pocket and she pulls out her comlink)
KOEMI: We have another ghoul sighting... (she turns to Kananno) Do you feel well enough to take the call?
KANANNO: (fakes a smile) I need to keep you out of trouble... don’t i?
GONJEN: Be careful, my students... I don’t think i could handle three of you unconscious in this place...
