-On this day you will be
introduced to World War II. We will have
a class discussion to gauge what knowledge you have of this event.

Tuesday-
-Today we will open class
by discussing the events that you read on the internet.
-We will also begin
discussing the events that lead up to the war and the events that lead up to
the attempted liquidation of the Jewish people by the NAZI regime.
H.W.-
Read the last two chapters on World War II. Read the timeline at the bottom of
the first website, and at the second website view all photos and read each web
link.

-Today
we will map out and discuss the events that ended World War II.
-We
will also discuss the atrocities that occurred in the concentration camps.

Finally we will watch film clips taken by Allied forces who were liberating the
camps.
H.W.- Essay: 3-5 pages, double space, 12 font, Times New
RomanYou are an American soldier who has been fighting in Europe for 3
years. Today your company came across a
concentration camp. Write a letter home
to a loved one and describe in detail; what you saw. Describe the feelings that you had when you
walked up to it, walked into it, and after you left.
