Swallow the Moon

by Eddy

Let everything be real again
ghosted of the mistakes we made
dream with me once more.
I no longer hear the music so many beautiful made
it died as the stars hid
Let everything be pure again
let childhood rear up renewed
let us touch what we tainted and make it alright
No longer is everything simple
nothing is black and white
in this mixed up world of black and blue
I don't fault your fears
even as you hide them behind a red clad shoulder
but release with me
everything you have
let it quake as we rock
in the silence we knit together now
Believe the unbelievable
bring back the children
and set them free on our nostalgia
a bittersweet taste of diluted wine
I'm no good for you
one bound forward, two falls back
into the arms of your pity
weave the assailant in me an embrace
born from the will of a victim.
Bred within our wistful longing some reality
hope for the hopeless as we dance the song only we hear
No one knows
No one will
our society of burden-less weights a secret
I am at fault
and seek my anger's refuge in something
just to incite you to take voice
shake away your disturbing doubt
but I'll settle for beating myself over the head
with my own idiocy
rock now friend
as the night cradles the echos of the music we made
mourning the loss of our epic fulfilment
one comrade stands out
blissfully unaware of the beauty he imagines in us
as irony soothes his worries
I see the questioning in your eyes
I know what I inflicted
relish what we were
I know you want to
and not what we have become
you are not alone, my friend.
I dream of pipes, too
