"A fire, a fire is burning! I hear the boots of Lucifer, I see his filthy face!
And it is my face, and yours, Danforth! For them that quail to bring men out of ignorance...
you all know in all your black hearts... God damns our kind exspecially...
We will burn, we will burn together!

Crest Of The Stars
Release Date: (Japan) *** (America) 2001
Genre: Drama, Sci-Fi.
Japanese Name: Seikai No Monsho
Description::
By all standards this is a Sci-fi space drama. The external conflict is well plotted but is not by any means what the story is focused on. Crest Of The Stars revolves around an earth boy "Jento" and a royol Abh female "Lafial". They travel to the advanced military spaceship "Goliath", for political purposes. Soon however, they find themselves caught in the middle of a great war existing between two monolithic races. Fleeing from the 'United Man Kind' who struggles to capture and execute them... For political purposes.

Three major strong points stand in The Crest Of The Stars.
Poweful, Original Music. Well thought-up scenes and careful animations.
And most noticable likeable, realistic characters. For the people who prefer action,
many will find the first few episodes slow and soap opera-ish.
I was one of them, but the plot quickly redeems itself in an explosion of
battle scenes and narrow escapes. Finaly concluding itself to a great ending.
By the way, Don't watch the Crest Of The Stars movie - Birth. It'll ruin everything,
they cut out all of the good scenes!

Black Heaven
Release Date: (Japan) *** (America) ***
Genre: Humor, Musical?.
Description::
Oji Tonaka, back in the days his band was on top. They had fame,
fortune, and everything else that went with the rock star lifestyle. Soon the wheels of life moved on.
Black Heaven split up and moved on. Next came common day life and mundane responsibilities. Years later,
working at a major corporation as the bosses lapdog. A new employee named Layla Yuki presents herself as an old fan of Black Heaven and mentions that he can take her to 'Heaven' at any time. He follows her to a building; Upon walking through the door he finds himself on an alien spaceship! Layla then explains that she and her race are fighting an inter-spatial war, Only Tonaka with his original sound can activate the secret weapon! The plot unfolds as the old Black Heaven rags are taken out of the closet, and the flying V gets the attention that it so much deserved. The enemy, out of desperation, resurrects a dead band member and recruits him into their own forces. The last episode ends in a show-down. A sentimental conclusion between Layla and Oji follows.
---

Black Heaven is about music, style. And shogah style female characters!
The plot is plausible and will sporadically give humorous moments. Most
importantly, the hard rock music is serious enough and
does not in the least sound cartoon-ish. Some scenes seemed
over dramatized and occasionally a few of the characters suffered from bad voice acting
But overall a good series.
