PI GALAXY

OVERVIEW
Pi Galaxy has served Clan Ghost Bear faithfully for eighty years as a solid and dependable garrison force.  Sadly circumstances have conspired to keep this unit out of significant action, resulting in a sterling defensive record but little battlefield glory for its warriors.  The whole of Pi Galaxy was brought forward to garrison the Coreward Ghost Bear holdings just before Wave Four of Operation Revival, where it still holds its position.  Aside from occasional attacks by incredibly brave (or reckless) pirates, Pi still sees little combat and even less glory.

The Galaxy insignia is the Clan Ghost Bear logo rendered in brown, with the Greek letter Pi superimpossed over it.

23rd Provisional Garrison Cluster
5 Trinaries/Veteran/Reliable
CO: Galaxy Commander Azrael Bekker
Aide: Star Captain Joie

Without a Bear Regulars unit to support it, Pi Galaxy relies on the Twenty-third as its mainstay.  Unfortunately, the Galaxy has a less-than-adequate supply of heavy 'Mechs, which has cost the unit more than its share of defeats.  Star Captain Joie, a young and eager Elemental, uses her strong leadership skills and formidable infantry force to attempt to lessen this handicap.

29th Provisional Garrison Cluster
4 Trinaries/Regular/Fanatical
CO: Star Colonel Gavin Hannifan

The Twenty-ninth PGC has the distinction of being the only undefeated Cluster in Clan Ghost Bear.  Its warriors rarely point this out, however, because the Twenty-ninth owes its success largely to the fact that it has faught fewer battles than any other Bear Cluster.  Staunchly Warden, this unit breathed a sigh of relief when the Crusaders lost the Great Refusal against the Inner Sphere.

5 Trinaries/Green/Reliable
CO: Star Colonel Rachel

The Fifty-fourth has long served as a training cadre for new warriors fresh out of the sibko.  The current batch recieved a trial by fire when their post on Thule was attacked by a remarkably large and organized group of bandits in September of 3060.  Jumping in at a pirate point unrecorded by the Clan, the bandit force was almost a full regiment in strength and included several captured OmniMechs.  The suddenness of the attack and the inexperience of the Fifty-fourth nearly resulted in the loss of Thule to the bandits.  However, Star Colonel Rachel, a Star Captain at the time, discerned that the bandit force was cobbled together from numerous smalled and often rival bandit units.  Thinking quickly, she broadcast threats and insults over enemy channels.  the verbal barrage provoked several of the dezgra MechWarriors to attack their allies, providing the Fifty-fourth the chance they needed to rally.  The leader of the coordinated bandit force was not identified, but her voice gave her away as a woman, and she was smart enough to call a retreat before her forces were reduced to below half their strength.  Nearly two battalions of the bandits escaped the pursuing Bears and jumped out of the system.

CO: Star Colonel Aileen

The Fifth gains the advantage of surprise form its significant force of Asshur artilllery spotters combined with almost as many Huitzilopochtli assault tanks.  Few opponents expect the massive and frighteningly accurate artillery bombardments that these units bring down on the battlefield.

13th Phalanx
4 Trinaries/Regular/Reliable
CO: Star Colonel David

Star Colonel David, an expert VTOL pilot, has managed to assemble a full Trinary of fast and powerful Donar assault helicopters to give his Cluster unsurpassed close-air support.  This unit constitutes almost all the Donars in Clan Ghost Bear, but they prove a decisive force on the battlefield, often destroying entire Stars of enemy 'Mechs before the opponent gets off a single shot.
