OMICRON GALAXY
OVERVIEW
Several aerospace pilot Galaxy commanders over the
years have gradually shifted the emphasis of Omicron from BattleMechs to
aerospace fighters. The Galaxy's current commander, Kedric Gilmour, has
moved all of Omicron's aerospace forces into two dedicated aerospace Clusters,
streamlining thier supply and repair. Such a concentration of fighters in
a single Galaxy often takes opponents by surprise, ending battles in space
before they reach the ground. Frequent enemies such as the Hell's Horses
have learned to bargain with Omicron for safcon so they can at least
attempt to fight 'Mech-to-'Mech.
The Galaxy insignia is the Clan Ghost Bear logo rendered in red, with the Greek letter omicron superimposed over it.
OFFICERS
In addition to technology trades, some Ghost
Bear units have recently engaged in skirmish Trials with Snow Raven forces,
effectively training to improve their deep-space combat abilities. Chief
among these "students" is Galaxy Commander Kedric Gilmour, who learned
a great deal from the Ravens regarding Jumpship escort tactics and the proper
use of assault ships. In addition to his already considerable
air-to-ground skills, Kedric puts these abilities to good use as he leads his
forces to battle.
Because he is so often engaged in aerial combat, Galaxy Commander Gilmour must rely heavily on Star Colonel Valeria Memba to coordinate the action on the ground. Valeria is a Clawed MechWarrior with a distinguished career, but she holds a serious grudge against Clan Jade Falcon. In one of the two Clans' frequent clashes over homeworld mineral resources, a Falcon ambush resulted in the loss of Valeria's entire Binary. Though she quickly gained satisfaction in an honor duel, she tends to lose her cool in battles with her sworn enemies.
TACTICS
With such an accomplished air wing, Omicron
excels at planetary assault missions. When no front-line unit is available
for an assault mission, Omicron sometimes wins the bidding to take the target,
and has proved itself adept at combined-arms attacks. Only the Galaxy's
relative shortage of 'Mechs hampers its otherwise excellent performance.
6th Bear Regulars
5 Trinaries/Veteran/Reliable
CO: Star Colonel Valeria Memba
The Sixth forms the strong core of Omicron, led by a full Trinary of Executioner OmniMechs earned through persistent Trials of Possession against other Ghost Bear Clusters. Star Colonel Memba guards this resource jealously, and it is often the decisive factor in her Galaxy's assault missions.

33rd Provisional Garrison Cluster
5 Trinaries/Regular/Questionable
CO: Star Colonel Pavel
Backing up the Sixth Regulars is the capable, if somewhat lackluster, Thirty-third PGC. Star Colonel Pavel is an honest and fierce Elemental, but only a fair commander. He relies heavily on his Star Captains and the guidance of Galaxy Commander Gilmour, which can prove to be a serious weakness when his own Trinary is isolated. For this reason, Khan Jorgensson posted this Cluster on Jarett along with the Sixth.

55th Provisional Garrison Cluster
3 Trinaries/Veteran/Fanatical
CO: Galaxy Commander Kedric Gilmour
Aide: Star Captain Quon
It comes as no surprise that the Fifty-fifth is the best second-line aerospace unit in Clan Ghost Bear. Though the Cluster is rarely deployed in force, it is well-trained in coordinated attack tactics. In simulated battle, the Fifty-third took down a Congress class WasShip. A common embellishment to the unit insignia adds white bird wings to the sides of the shield and tops it with a halo.
Last Known Location: Pomme de Terre
69th Provisional Garrison Cluster
3 Trinaries/Regular/Reliable
CO: Star Colonel William
Though it pales in comparison to its sister Cluster, the Sixty-ninth is a fine aerospace unit in its own right. However, Star Colonel William is not nearly as proficient in deep space operations, preferring to strike his targets after they are grounded. A common embellishment to the unit insignia adds black bat wings to the sides of the shield.
