OMEGA GALAXY: THE RAGING BEARS

OVERVIEW
Hunter Tseng, commander of the prestigious ilKhan's Shield for more than ten years, recieved a special command from Khan Bjorn Jorgensson. Transferred to command of the 139th Striker Cluster after Tukayyid, his unit moved constantly, serving on every Ghost Bear world bordering the Draconis Combine as well as worlds at the edge of the Periphery. During this time, his unit faced Inner Sphere forces on several occasions, and the unit's Star Captains were instructed to carefully observe their opponent's tactics and Battlemechs.

In 3055, the 139th was called back to the homeworlds. During the following two years, a new Galaxy was formed around the unit, with its former Star Captains becoming Star Colonels and Hunter Tseng serving as the Galaxy Commander. Carefully trained and indoctrinated in the ways of Inner Sphere warriors, Omega Galaxy seeks to fight fire with fire: to learn the ways of the Inner Sphere and employ them on the battlefield, while maintaining the spirit of a true Clan warrior. The task is difficult, and the relative quiet on the Inner Sphere front means that the unit remains untested in battle. Khan Jorgensson hopes that this Galaxy, by operating independently and never clashing with other Clans, can employ so-called dezgra tactics without blemishing the honor of its fellow Ghost Bear Galaxies. Only time will tell if his plan will work.

The insignia of Omega Galaxy is an abstract map of the Inner Sphere enclosed in a Greek letter Omega. Impossed over this is the image of a roaring bear's head.

OFFICERS
The entire corps of Star Colonels for Omega Galaxy were originally Star Captains in Hunter Tseng's command. They have considerable experience working as a team, and are fiercly loyal to the Warden cause.

TACTICS
Though the Galaxy still uses the Clan command structure, all Omega units follow the tactical doctrine of the Inner Sphere, or at least a close approximation of it. The warriors of this Galaxy never invoke zellbrigen or other battle rituals unless fighting in intra-Clan Trials. They have learned the strategies of massed fire and tactical retreat, and employ them with the unsurpassed skills of Clan-bred warriors. In spite of their dezgra training, they fight with as much honor and nobility as possible, not unlike the tactics and attitude displayed by the Free Worlds League's Knights of the Inner Sphere.

Trinary Galaxy Command (Tseng's Keshik)
1 Trinary/Elite/Fanatical
CO: Galaxy Commander Hunter Tseng

The newest Keshik in the Clan, the warriors of Tseng's Keshik were hand-picked from the finest warriors the 139th had to offer. The insignia of the Keshik is a gold and silver shield with a ghost bear's head etched on it in blue.

Last Known Location: Policenigo

139th Striker Cluster (The Sphere Hunters)
4 Trinaries/Veteran/Fanatical
CO: Star Colonel Kelly Forrester

The 139th performed admirably during Operation Revival, achieving such a fearsome reputation that the planer Pomme de Terre surrendered to it without a shot being fired. Though the 139th lost many of its best warriors to create Tseng's Keshik, the Sphere Hunters remain a powerful and flexible unit. The unit insignia is a blood red sphere pierced by the spear of Jorgensson.

Last Known Location: Mannedorf

5th Bear Guards (Arctic Thunder)
4 Trinaries/Veteran/Fanatical
CO: Star Colonel Gerald Harlow

Khan Jorgensson showed Omega Galaxy great honor in approving of the creation of a new Bear Guards Cluster. The Bear Guards are always the most elite of the Clan's front-line units, and the Arctic Thunder is no exception. The unit's veteran rating results from its inexperience in fighting as a unit and the unproven use of Inner Sphere tactics. The Cluster insignia is a stylized thunderhead unleasing lighting and snow.

Last Known Location: Polcenigo

357th Assault Cluster (The Cave Bears)
4 Trinaries/Regular/Fanatical
CO: Star Colonel Naiad Ortiz

The tactics of the Cave Bears are based on the slow-advance "wall of metal" favored by the Lyran military. Comprised almost entirely of assault-class machines, the 357th is nearly unstoppable when deployed in force. The unit insignia is a cave bear emblazoned on a gray castle tower.

Last Known Location: Radlje

10th Bear Cuirassiers (Tundra Roughriders)
4 Trinaries/Regular/Reliable
CO: Star Colonel Justinian Hall

This mixed unit contains the bulk of Omega's freshest warrios out of the sibkos, who are not yet fully indoctrinated in the Inner Sphere tactics the rest of the Galaxy employs. The Cluster insignia shows a cowboy riding a running bear, signifying the unit's high mobility and pioneering spirit.
