Chapter 10

In a small asteroid cluster, near the Telonic system, so called after the company that staked its claim to the system. It was for the most part unremarkable and of very little interest, but on one asteroid there was a relatively small metal door, only 60 meters in diameter, but inside was a military complex filled with MAWs and munitions. There were small ships which are basically a engine with two platforms on the side and docking points on them for the MAWs. They are unshielded and offer no protection to the MAWs that they passenger around but help to get them into position a lot quicker than if the MAWs went under their own power. At the moment the MAWs were coming back. Amongst them was the black MAW. It docked in its own bay and the hatch opened. A figure dressed in black and wearing a dark tinted visor jumped down, the gravity was less than on planets or ships so the jump wasnt hard. He landed softly down and started to go over to the doors out of the hanger. One of the other pilots, a young man, moved over to him.

Man, Ive never seen anyone take out those UPDF guys so easily. Hey, perhaps you would like to trade tactics sometime. The young man said.

The black pilot stopped and turned his head slowly to look at the young man and stared, the young man suddenly feeling uneasy by the silence.

Please do not disturb Schwarzer Ritter, the hanger master said.

Schwarzer Ritter turned to the hanger master, then back to the young man, then to the door then headed through it.

After he had left the young man shivered.

Man, hes cold.

Schwarzer Ritter arrived at his quarters and took off his helmet. He put the helmet down and walked over to a mirror on a wall which he had done many times before and stared into it. He stared into the face of a man who was nearing 40, clean-shaven, with short brown hair and brown eyes.

Who are you? he thought aloud. He continued to look at the reflection almost waiting for a reply from it. He eventually took off his clothing and settled into bed. He lay there for a while staring at the ceiling trying to remember his past. Eventually he slipped into sleep.
