What is a "mouseover?" A mouseover is a type of action which causes some result by passing the cursor over the "active" link or Icon.

Mouseovers are useful in many cases but require the browser to support Javascript for the action to operate. Some interesting and useful examples are included below.

Popup Window

This example of a mouseover will cause a "popup" window to open when the "mouseover" action is performed; try it!

No-Click Link

This mouseover will make a link which does NOT require a "click" but only a mouseover. It's pretty slick. No click - just go on a mouseover. I would be careful using these though. A slip of the mouse will send the user to all sorts of strange places.

Address in Browser Taskbar

This mouseover will place the address or information in the window at the bottom of the browser when the mouse passes over it.

Notice the writing at the bottom of the browser. That's what it does. The script itself has instructions on where to put the link you want and where to put in the text you want to appear on the bottom of the browser.

Button Effect

The following "mouseover" uses two images to cause the effect when the cursor moves over the image. The two image files (GIF) are below:

Move your cursor over the image below to see how the effect looks during the "mouseover." You can use a graphics program such as Paint Shop Pro to make your own buttons and install them using the script.
