August 13-mid November 29,1993

Includes all of Maurice's scenes from his arrival up till meeting Brenda on the docks. Jagger (Stone's brother, and Karen's in love with him) wants Stone to leave and live with him. Stone refuses to leave. Stone tells Jagger that Sonny is more of a brother to him. Sonny later tells Stone that he (Sonny) is the only brother Stone has. Karen comes in, Sonny can tell she is bummed-he figures out that it is over Jagger. He offers to go teach Jagger a lesson, Karen says no! Karen's feeling the effects of the pills, she's having a hard time staying awake in class so Sonny gives her some uppers, then she's flying. Stone looks concerned about her. Jagger comes into the club again, this time he sees Karen stripping. Karen doesn't see Jagger, she comes off the stage high. Sonny kisses her and plans another champagne dinner. Jagger blames Stone for bringing Karen into the club. Jagger confronts Karen backstage, she's heartbroken. She joins Sonny for dinner, visibly shaken, Sonny reassures and kisses her. Stone and Sonny talk about Jagger and Karen. Sonny relaxes Karen before another show, they sip champagne and dance. Sonny is very attentive and protective. Karen tells him she's going to quit working at Kelly's. Sonny and Karen make love, Jagger walks in on them after. He tries to get Karen to come with him, he and Sonny fight, he knocks Sonny out. Sonny comes to and Karen insists on taking him to the hospital. She feels guilty and responsible, they sleep together again. Stone is worried what Sonny will do to Jagger. Karen overhears Sonny making arrangements to retaliate, she tries to stop him. She's frightened for Jagger. She tells Stone, he also tries to discourage Sonny. Sonny isn't happy with either of them for their interference. He tells Stone he has to choose, that its an issue of loyalty. Jagger is grabbed at Kelly's, Brenda's frantic. Karen comes in, has words with Brenda, then tells Marco that Jagger is in trouble. Jagger is taken upstairs at Sonny's club. Stone finds him tied to a chair, bleeding. Sonny comes in and once again forces Stone to choose, Stone walks out rather than choose Jagger over Sonny. Marco shows up to deal for Jagger's release. Meanwhile, Stone returns and unties Jagger when no one is there. Marco makes a deal, gives Sonny part of Jagger's boxing contract. Karen is not so enamored of Sonny, now she is frightened of him. Karen's grades are dropping, she wants to quit stripping. Stone advises that she doesn't. Karen steals drugs from GH. Brenda happily shares Karen's low grades with Robin, she also intends on finding out Karen's secret. They follow Karen to the Paradise, Robin can't get in, but Brenda has a fake ID. Brenda sees Sonny kiss Karen and says "Who is that!" very intrigued. Karen is shaky, doesn't want to strip, it doesn't seem so glamorous anymore. Stone cautions her not to tell Sonny. Brenda is shocked beyond belief to see Karen stripping. Karen, drugged out, hallucinates that Ray is in the audience, she runs offstage. Sonny is not happy, she quits. Sonny tells her that it is not an option. She realizes that Sonny has been manipulating her, she tells him he is just like Ray and leaves. He starts to go after her. Stone stops him, he's afraid of what Sonny will do to her. Brenda, of course, runs straight to Karen's mom to share the stripping info. Jagger can't believe Brenda will tell her. Stone finds Karen and tells her Sonny is madder than he has ever seen him, he hides Karen for a few days. Stone tells Sonny he doesn't know exactly where Karen is. Sonny, much calmer, goes to see Karen. Tells her he won't make her return, then tries to talk her into it, she refuses, he says he will accept that temporarily. He then visits her while she's on duty at GH with a present, she won't accept. Tells him she doesn't want him, when he won't take no for an answer she calls a guard to throw him out. Sonny wants Jagger to throw his next fight. Sonny wants Stone to bring Karen to the fight. Brenda, Robin, at the fight, Karen and Stone come in. Sonny sits by Karen and Stone. Brenda asks Robin what she thinks of Sonny. Jagger won't throw the fight, he wins, Sonny is ticked. Sonny grabs Karen by the hair and starts pulling her out of there. Jagger punches him, and he and Karen run out. Brenda at Kelly's going on about how she won't give up on Jagger. Sonny comes in looking for Jagger, Brenda overhears and heads upstairs to warn Jagger. They take off out the fire escape.  Ruby is calm while Sonny threathens her, he's impressed by her coolness.  Sonny finds Brenda in Jagger's room, painting her toes - looks like she's waiting for Jagger to return. Brenda asks if they've ever tried knocking, after all she might not have been decent, "What would we have done then?".  Sonny replies that they would have thought of something. Karen & Jagger head to Sean.  Sonny threathens Marco if K&J don't show up. Sean calls Sonny in, arrests him for threathening K&J.  Karen also tells Sean about Ray molesting her. Big time mob guys get Sonny out of jail, want him then to break Frank Smith out.  Sonny's lawyer warns him to leave K&J alone. Later, Sonny brings Karen flowers, tells her it was just business and he would never have killed her.  The Paradise Lounge has been shut down. Sonny goes to see Luke (their first scene together) at the brownstone.  Luke goes ballistic and warns him to never come to his house, talk to his friends or his family.  (Frank Smith is blackmailing Luke into breaking him out). More Luke & Sonny on the docks planning.  After Luke leaves, Sonny runs into Brenda and introduces himself.
