chapter 6
The tension was increasing with every second that went by. Sonny attempts to bring humor to the situation,
"Hey why don't we all go back to my room, strip naked and then we'll call it even. We'll all have seen each other naked."
Brenda hits him on the arm, for about the third time that day. She closes her eyes and thinks for a minute. Then she looks from Sonny to Lois and then Ned. She can't take the tension any longer. "I'm gonna head back to my room. Lo, Ned, I'll talk to you later." She looks to Sonny before getting in the elevator.
Lois watches her best friend get in the elevator and just before the elevator closes she notices that Brenda has tears in her eyes. She turns to Ned,
"Honey, I'll meet you in the casino, I've gotta go talk to Bren. She's upset."
"Okay go ahead." He leans over and kisses her cheek slightly.
Ned then turns to Sonny, with an angry expression on his face, he gets up closer to Sonny's face and points his fingers into his chest.
"What the fuck is your problem rich boy?" Said Sonny, with nothing but contempt in his voice.
"My problem is you chasing after Brenda. She deserves so much better. So I suggest you leave her the hell alone or you'll definitely regret it." Ned stands chest to chest with Sonny ready to make his point clearer if need be.
Sonny glares at him,
"Get this straight asshole, it doesn't matter what you think. The only person whose opinion really matters in this situation is Brenda's. Until she tells me to back off, I'm not going to. Now are we clear?"
Ned looks back at Sonny and can't help but smile getting angrier by the minute. "You really must be hard of hearing. I know about you and the things you do and if you think I'd allow Brenda, or anyone I care about, to be involved with someone like you, you're wrong. I'm gonna make sure she stays away from you so you better take my warning seriously and keep the hell away from her. I'm not gonna go over this with you again. Got it?"
Gentlemen, there's no need to fight, the perfect way to settle this is to just drop our pants and see who has the best ass, but we all know who will win that one."
Laura looks at Luke as if to say, "Sonny?"
"Me...who the hell else would it be."
Sonny rolls his eyes and walks outside to the pool.
After changing into a t-shirt and sweats Brenda is lying on her bed when there is a knock on the door. She wipes away the tears that have fallen from her eyes and slowly gets up to answer it.
"Lo, what are you doing here? I thought you were with Ned?"
"I told Ned, to go up to the casino without me, that I had to talk to you." Brenda starts to cry, "It's okay girlfriend, don't cry. So ya got caught in a compromising position, it isn't the end of the world." She pulls Brenda to her and hugs her, stroking her back.
Brenda grabs a tissue and wipes her eyes again. "Lo, I don't think I've ever been so embarrassed in my whole life. Then all he can do is make a joke out of it." She looks down at her hands. "I'm so confused I don't even know what to think."
Lois continues to stroke Brenda's back,
"Aww honey...you just have to know Sonny Corinthos. He's been through so much in his twenty-eight years. He lost his wife, his unborn child, and he was abused as a child. Don't tell him I mentioned that though, he will be pissed off if he knows that you know about that. He has a lot of pride. And sometimes making jokes is the only thing he can do in a situation like this. Besides girlfriend...at least you weren't caught by your father in the middle of the act." Lois is now blushing.
Brenda looks up at Lois trying to take in all the information she has just told her about Sonny. Then what Lois has just admitted suddenly sinks in. Brenda puts her hand over her mouth. "Oh no, Lo." She can't help but smile trying not to laugh. "I never knew."
"Well...it happened with Ned...whatever you do, do not tell him that you know. It would be bad for him to find out. He's liable to file for divorce if he were to find out I told you."
Brenda stares at Lois, giving her the link that says, "Come on, get on with it."
"Okay...okay I'll tell ya what happened...Ned and I were in my bedroom making out very intensely and we began to make love. Jesus, Mary and Joseph...I mean it was my first time at that. I got caught in the act my very first time at doing it."
Brenda puts a reassuring hand on Lois' arm. "I feel so bad for you Lo, but based on your experience I have a question for you. Do I act like it never happened and move on or acknowledge it then move past it?"
Lois gives Brenda a small smile,
"Bren, I honestly think you should just acknowledge it and move on, but at the same time, you shouldn't let it get you down. Whenever you start thinking about it, just remember what I told you about getting caught in the act by my father."
Brenda leans over and hugs Lois. "Lo, you're the best, you know that? You always know how to make me feel better. I'm so glad I have you."
Lois smiles as they continue to hug,
"Anytime sweetheart, anytime."
Lois continues to hold Brenda as she cries, suddenly, there is a knock at the door. Lois goes to open it. She is surprised to see Sonny at the door.
"Corinthos, I don't know if now is a good time. Bren's very upset."
Brenda looks up and looks at Sonny with a hurt expression on her face.
"It's okay Lo, he can come in." She quickly wipes her eyes and shrugs slightly. "We should talk."
Lois looks a little weary of leaving her friend alone, but she decides to do what Brenda wants her to,
"Okay girlfriend, I'm gonna go find my Nedly and make sure he hasn't ran off with another woman. Call me if ya need me."
Lois leaves the room, leaving Sonny and Brenda alone. Sonny walks over to the side of Brenda's bed and kneels down on the floor, like you would do to beg for forgiveness,
"I'm sorry baby, I didn't mean to hurt you."
"I know you didn't Sonny. And it's not you that I'm upset with, it's the whole situation." She moves from her bed down to the floor. "I had a good talk with Lois and she made realize it wasn't as bad as I think. I just wanna move past this with as little embarrassment as possible." She looks deeply into his eyes. "Can we do that...together?"
Sonny returns her intense gaze,
"That's what I want too baby, that's all I want."
chapter 7
After a night of passionate lovemaking, Brenda is happy to awaken and find that they are FINALLY on land. Being out to see for two days was starting to get old. The captain speaking on the intercom interrupts her thoughts,
"Ladies and Gentleman, this is your captain speaking. We are now in Jamaica. Orientation will be at the theatre in about half an hour, be there for a list of all the activities."
Brenda looks over at Sonny, she had no clue how he could sleep through that loud announcement. He had been so loud that he could have burst her eardrum. She hits him on the butt and he jumps,
"I know mom; I'll get up in a minute. Just ten more minutes please..." Brenda looks at him, not believing that he has just called her his mother.
She smiles slyly while moving up to suck on his earlobe while her hand reaches down to caress his manhood. She laughs when she hears him groan. She begins kissing down his neck while whispering, "Rise and shine sleepyhead." She rolls him over and climbs on top of him. "Sonny, I'm gonna ignore that comment, but the next time I'm gonna hold it against ya." She kisses him allowing her tongue to caress his lips.
After they kiss for a minute or so, Sonny breaks away and looks at Brenda, a confused expression forming on his face.
"What comment? The one where I told you what I was going to do to you? Or was that just something I said in a dream?"
He says as Brenda begins to grind her hips into his
"Cute Corinthos." She puts both her hands on his bare chest. "I was referring to the one where you called my "mom" and then asked me for "ten more minutes." Brenda laughs at the expression on Sonny's face. "Tell me about it. What a way to ruin the mood. Now get your hot ass up so we can finally get off this giant sea monster."
Sonny gets up and walks out onto the balcony. He looks out at the gorgeous aquamarine waters of Jamaica, he sees people walking out on the beach, people that look like little dots, seeing that they are about five miles away from the shore. Brenda stares at him in disbelief, for he hadn't even bothered to put a robe on. Brenda throws on a robe and joins him on the balcony. Sonny smiles at her,
"Ya shouldn't of worn your robe, we could have done it right here, I think you would enjoy it. I know I would."
"Everybody and your mother might have already seen your goods but my are reserved for this incredibly sexy, spanish dimpled guy I know." She leans her head against his chest. "Beside orientation is in less than an hour and knowing us if we would have done it right here we would never make it in time."
Sonny nods his head, knowing that Brenda was right. He takes her hand and leads her inside and they begin to get dressed.
Thirty minutes later, they are sitting in the theatre/autitorium waiting for the cruise director to begin speaking about the activities. Brenda begins to smile when the cruise director begins to speak and talks about what Jamaica is known for. Tanzanite rings was something that she would have to check out.
She looks over at Sonny and holds his hand. He smiles at her and she rests her head on his shoulder. She picks her head up and whispers, "I can't wait till we go sightseeing. We'll able to take our time and look around, just me and you."
Sonny laughs,
"That's not all honey, we can make love in the ocean, have you ever made love in the ocean? It's incredible, the way the exhilarating water flows over your body, like a caress."
She kisses his cheek, "I'll be looking forward to it. Although any time we make love is pretty exhilarating." She laughs quietly.
An hour later Brenda looks out at the incredible peaceful atmosphere. the water was very warm and exhilarating, just as Sonny had described, they hadn't made love yet, but that was something good that was to come. Every time they made love, it was more and more incredible, something she had thought wasn't possible. She looks over at him and notices the change in him, his face had all the expressions of a little boy in the mood to play. She laughs as he runs out into the ocean. Ten seconds later she joins him, running after him. She finally catches up with him and jumps on his back, running her fingers through his hair as she kisses his neck.
She slips off his back and swims farther into the warm water. She turns back around and splashes him and start laughing as he comes chasing after her. He soon chases her and pulls her in his arms and begins tickling her.
"Oh god, Sonny stop." Brenda tries to get him to stop but it won't work he's determined to pay her back. She decides her only option is to distract him. She wraps her legs around him and wraps her arms around his neck. "How about we try making love now?" She miles as she begins kissing his neck.
Sonny smiles at her, loving the idea of them making love in the ocean. He takes her face in his hands and looks intensely into her eyes, in only the way he can. She is surprised when she notices tears forming in his dark, intense eyes. She strokes his hair and lowers his head to her breasts, trying to comfort him. She didn't know what had suddenly gotten him so upset, or if he was even upset, maybe they were just tears of happiness.
He lifts his head and looks into her eyes. She can't help but smile showing all the happiness she feels inside. Her hand caress his face, her thumbs over his dimples. "I love you Sonny. I'm crazy in love with you."
Tears are still falling down his cheek, but that doesn't stop him from smiling. Brenda was the very first woman, besides his mother, to tell him that she loved him. Lily had never loved him, the entire marriage had been loveless, only an obligation, he had cared about her, but that's as far as it went. He had felt terrible for what he felt was his responsibility for her death, but it had gone no father than that. He strokes Brenda's face and looks deeply into her eyes, saying these incredible words for the first time,
"I love you too, Brenda. I love you so much."
Tears are now flowing freely from her own eyes. She hugs him tightly and his arms instantly wrap around her. She had never felt like this in her life, sure she thought she was in love with Jagger but now she knew it was only a crush. His heart always belonged to Karen and she never received real love from him. But looking into Sonny's eyes should could tell how deeply he felt about her and that was the best feeling in the world.
She allows her hands to roam in his hair and she kisses from his ear all down his jawline meeting his lips. They devour each other in passionate kisses parting only to breathe.
Their bodies pressed together, neither wanting them to part anytime soon. Sonny deepens the kiss, parting her lips and inserting his tongue, dueling in passion with hers. She moans as puts his hand inside her bikini top, caressing her breast. Getting tired of not being able to have full access of her breast he unclasps her top and it floats in the water. They don't care, however, for they are too lost in each other. Sonny takes her breast into his mouth and Brenda yelps as he gently nibbles on it with his teeth, but just as quickly he eases the pressure and soothes it with his tongue. This erotic torture was enough to drive her crazy.
"Oh god Sonny." She puts her hands on his shoulders as her feet push his trunks down his legs. Then they wrap back around his waist. "I need to feel you in me now." She moans as he pushes her suit bottom down. He quickly thrust inside her. He moves at a torturous paces. She grinds against him willing him to move faster.
And he gives her exactly what she wants, countless times over. Finally, they are so spent they barely find the energy to walk back to the land. When they finally get there, they collapse. They look up to a surprise. Brenda screams.
"Shit! Sonny get up, the boats leaving!"
Chapter 8
Brenda and Sonny stand there staring at the boat as it goes farther and farther away. Brenda looks back at Sonny questionably.
"What do we do now? How in the world are we going to get back on that boat?
Sonny just looks at Brenda, honestly not knowing what he could possibly say. This had never happened to him before. He shrugs his shoulders,
"I don't know, but if you give me a minute, I could probably figure something out."
Brenda rolls her eyes, this entire situation was his fault, if he could keep his pants on, this wouldn't even be an issue. She starts pacing up and down and back and forth. In deep concentration with her hands on her hips. Suddenly it hits her.
"Hey, couldn't we get in touch with the ocean patrol, boat patrol or whatever it is they call themselves and tell them we need to get back on that boat."
She looks back at him waiting for him to say something.
"Well what do you think?"
Sonny smiles, he had been thinking the exact same thing but she had beaten him to it,
"I was just thinking the same thing. The only thing is, I left my cell phone on the boat."
He smiles, trying to lighten the mood, but he was miserably failing at it, for Brenda had her hands on her hips and she was glaring at him.
"Well I don't have a cell phone either. Looks like we're going to have to walk and find this place ourselves."
Brenda starts laughing at the whole situation.
"I guess things could only get better from here on out."
She wraps her arm around Sonny's.
"Lead the way."
An hour later, Sonny and Brenda are still trudging down the road, Brenda limping due to the hot pavement, it was only a week from Christmas, but the Jamaican temperature didn't show it. She doesn’t make a sound, she didn’t want Sonny to think that she couldn’t handle a troubling situation. A yelling Sonny finally brings her out of her deep thoughts. He points ahead to a pink cabana,
"That's the Ocean Patrol."
Brenda nods her head, silently thanking god, for she didn't know how much longer her feet could take of this long endeavor.
"Wonderful. When we get there you explain to them what happened and tell them I don't care how but we need to get back on that boat."
They reach the cabana and Brenda leans against it as she watches Sonny go inside. He didn't seem tired at all. She shakes her head in disbelief and then follows him inside.
Sonny walks up to the counter and begins talking to a Bob Marley look alike with braids in his hairs, from the look of his hair and his clothing, he was obviously Jamaican. He doesn't notice Sonny and heads to the back, Sonny rings the bell and the man comes out,
"How may I help you sir?"
Said the guy, whose voice was thick with the Jamaican accent.
Sonny tells him about being stranded, without going into the details of his sexual escapade with Brenda. The guy just smiles, knowing what had happened, for it hadn't been the first time it had happened.
Brenda watches as a cocky look appears on the guy’s face, which totally pisses her off.
"Excuse me? Are you gonna help us get back on the boat? Or are you just gonna stand there with the look on your face all day?"
The guy laughs, and reaches across the counter to slap Sonny on the back,
"You got yourself one feisty little bitch huh?"
Brenda glares at him, wanting to show him what a bitch really is. She looks over to Sonny and notices the slight smile on his face with only helps to make her even madder. She looks back at the guy.
"You've sure got that right. But let me tell you, you haven't seen anything yet. I'm sure to get a hell of a lot bitchier if you don't get us on that boat and fast. You got me?!"
The guys eyes widen in amazement, never in his life had he seen somebody with such an attitude. This chic definitely needed an attitude adjustment. Sonny breaks into the conversation, before a brawl breaks out,
"Can you just tell us what to do? We really do need to get out of here."
The guy smiles at them,
"Oh I can tell you what to do, but you ain't gonna like it!"
Brenda shakes her head, obviously this guy wasn't grammatically correct.
A loud roaring noise above her head caused Lois to look up. She notices a helicopter, which appears to be trying to get the attention of the ship, seeing how it kept hovering over it. She looks over at Ned, who is staring through his binoculars at a woman in a skimpy bikini across the deck. Lois shakes her head at him and yanks them away from him. She places them to her eyes and looks up at the helicopter, she sees somebody who looks like Brenda. She hits Ned on the shoulder,
"Nedley, are my eyes fooling me or is that Brenda up there?"
Ned takes the binoculars back from her and looks up.
Ned sees Brenda too.
"Nope you're eyes aren't fooling you unless mine are fooling me too."
Suddenly he sees Sonny.
"And she's up there with Corinthos."
He looks over at Lois.
"I told you that man was more trouble than he is worth!"
Lois rolls her eyes and hits him on the shoulder,
"Don't start Ashton, or you're sleeping on the sofa!"
Up above, Sonny tries to comfort Brenda, who is shaking, for the guy has just informed her that they don't plan on lowering her and Sonny into the ship, they were in fact going to have to jump and the parachutes they were attached too were going to hold them up. She is shaking and holding onto Sonny like her life depended on it, he gently kisses her forehead,
"Come on sweetheart, we'll jump together, on the count of three. One...two...three..."
Sonny begins to jump but stops when he doesn't feel Brenda getting ready to jump as well,
"Come on sweetheart, we don't have a choice."
Chapter 9
'I can't do this,' thought Brenda, but she didn't have a choice in the matter, not when Sonny was right behind her and would probably push her out, if she took too much longer. He was obviously getting irritated.
"For Christs sake Brenda..."
He realizes that screaming is not going to get him anywhere with her, so he lowers his tone,
"Listen baby, I know you're scared, but you can do this. Remember how you told me that you survived through Jagger breaking your heart? Well if you survived that, you sure as hell can survive this. So lets prove it to Jagger and to everybody that has ever wronged you, how you always come out on top, that you are invincible!"
Brenda sighs, Sonny sure knew how to give one hell of a pep talk. She looks deeply into Sonny's eyes and she can't help but believe in what he's told her. She smiles and reaches her hand out toward him.
"I'll jump, if we can jump together."
Sonny laughs, this moment reminded him of the scene in Titanic, where Jack had told Rose that if she jumped he would have to jump too. It was crazy, but then again, their very short time together had been crazy. Brenda screams,
"Oh shit!" Said Sonny, the ship has sped up, by at least five hundred knots, their feet touches the railing and they crash into the sea. Sonny holds on to Brenda, very tightly and he has to make a big effort to swim, seeing that he has to hold on to Brenda.
Brenda and Sonny are chilled to the bone as the cold water surrounds them. Brenda just doesn't have enough energy to swim to the boat. She tries extremely hard to, though, as she feels Sonny holding her tightly.
"Oh God Sonny, this isn't happening."
They get closer to the boat and she sees people, who look like Ned and Lois, throw out a life preserver to them.
Sonny grabs the preserver and his grasp on her tightens as they begin to be pulled up onto the boat.
"You can do it baby, remember what I said before." He says as he grabs hold of the life preserver. Brenda grabs hold of it and holds on tightly as Ned begins to pull her up.
Luke and Laura have now joined the crowd of people that have gathered around. Luke is curious as to what has everybody so entertained and just laughs as he sees the reason,
"Those damn kids, they've done it again. Remember when we were young lovers?" He smiles as if remembering all their adventurous times.
Laura returns the smile and nods.
"Thank god this is over, I'm so c...c...cold," Said Brenda, her teeth were chattering and her body was shaking from half fear and half coldness.
Lois embraces her friend,
"Thank god you're okay girlfriend!"
Ned is about to pull up the life preserver, before Sonny can get it. Lois glares at him,
"Don't you even think about it! Throw that thing back in there now!"
Ned has no choice but to do what his wife asks of him and throws it back into the water. Sonny latches onto it as Ned reluctantly pulls him up.
Sonny finally reaches the top of the boat and Lois hands him and towel. Brenda walks over to him and tightly wraps her arms around him.
She whispers to him, "I'm so glad you're okay Sonny."
She pulls back and looks at him.
“You saved my life. I wouldn’t have made it with out you.”
She hugs him again tightly thanking God for letting Sonny into her life.
Sonny gently kisses Brenda on the head,
"I thank god you came into my life everyday and I'll continue to feel that way, until the day I die."
Ned grits his teeth at Sonny's words. As far as he was concerned, he wanted Sonny out of Brenda's life and one way or another, he was going to get him out of her life. He reaches over and grabs Brenda's arm.
"Bren, I think you better get into some dry clothes before you get sick. C'mon Lois and I will walk you back to your room."
He shoots a dirty look to Sonny for getting Brenda in this situation in the first place.
Brenda jerks away from Ned's grasp, not liking the tone in Ned's voice, she begins to speak, defending herself and Sonny.
"Ned, I've told you before I can take care of myself. I don't need you to look after me."
She reaches down and takes hold of Sonny's hand.
"And I don't appreciate they way you've been treating Sonny. He hasn't done anything to you and it would mean a lot me if you would just leave him alone."
She looks away from Ned to Lois.
"Lo, I'm sorry I scared ya. How about we met up for dinner later?"
Lois smiles wanly, Ned was making her really uncomfortable with the way he was treating Sonny. She nods her head and quickly walks off before she bursts into tears.
Brenda turns around and glares at Ned,
"I hope you're happy!"
She storms off in the same direction, as Lois had, not even a minute before.
Sonny turns around to face Ned. He walks closer to him, so that he is now in his face. He takes his finger and pokes it into Ned's chest,
"You are an asshole! How can you be so insensitive when it comes to your wife! I feel bad for you, you got two women pissed off at you, two very strong women, and they could take you out with one look, pretty boy!"
Ned glares at Sonny becoming even angrier if it were possible.
"Look you two-bit criminal. You are the last person going to give me advice about my wife. You have more important things to be worried about, like what I'm gonna do to you if you continue to go after Brenda."
Sonny feels the very small amount of calmness that he has left slip away with that comment,
"You have no say in my relationship with Brenda, what about your issues, does bigamy ring a bell? I bet you didn't tell Lois about you and your mother in law's affair either did you? Just keep it up and I'll be sure that Lois knows everything about you!"
Ned jerks away from Sonny and storms off in the same direction as Brenda and Lois had earlier.
Sonny stands there and fumes when he feels somebody tap him on the shoulder, he turns around to see Luke,
"So did ya see up any girls dresses when you were getting ready to jump out of the helicopter?"
Sonny shakes his head, it seemed all that Luke could manage to do was think about sex, but he also had to hand it to him, he certainly knew how to break a moment of tension. He begins to laugh,
"Only you would think about something like that."
He smiles at Luke and heads off to find Brenda.
Lois throws the dice on to the craps table. The casino worker screams that she has lost another thousand dollars, but she doesn't seem to care, not when the money was Ned's, she was so pissed off with him and he deserved everything that he was going to lose. Her thoughts are interrupted by somebody tapping her on the shoulder. She thinks it is Ned and begins to scream,
"Leave me the fuck alone Ashton, I'm in no mood for you or your griping!"
Brenda smiles and taps her on the shoulder again, Lois turns around and sees that it is in fact Brenda.
"Hey, I see you're having a good old time here, and I'm sorry to interrupt you, but I thought you might like some company."
Brenda hugs Lois then pulls away smiling.
"I'd say I'd join ya but only if you're playing the quarter slots cause I'm not such a big spender."
They both laugh and head over to the slot machines.
Lois laughs,
"Hey, it's on Nedley, he's paying for this whole casino experience, and he's gonna keep payin'."
Brenda puts some quarters in a few machines and looks over at Lois.
"So I take it you're pretty pissed at him, huh?"
Lois rolls her eyes at Brenda's understatement,
"That's a big understatement Bren...I'm beyond pissed. Ned knows that Sonny and I grew up together and that we were close, yet he still feels the need to put him down in front of me, and in front of you...that doesn't say much for his character I'm afraid."
Lois puts quarter after quarter into the slot machine,
"If he doesn't stop this soon...this could be the beginning of the end of our marriage."
Chapter 10
Brenda stared at Lois, not believing that what Lois had just said about her marriage being at an end was the truth. She had never known anybody that loved each other as much as Ned and Lois, never. Her life had always been so turbulant, as she moved from one boarding school to the next. Lois looks at her with tears flowing down her face and Brenda pulls her to her and embraces her tightly.
"Lo, I love you and Ned so much and I know how much you both love each other. You both are going to get through this. I know that Ned doesn't like Sonny and Sonny doesn't really care for Ned, but Ned understands that Sonny is your friend."
Brenda pulls back from Lois and wipes her tears away.
"Look, I'll even talk to him if you want me to. I'd do anything for you Lo, you're my best-friend, my sister."
Lois sighs and looks into her best friends eyes. The truth lay in her eyes. Brenda was right. Brenda always seemed to be right when it came to her and Ned,
"Girlfriend, I appreciate it, but I think this is something that Nedly and I have to work out for ourselves, you always fix things between us and I think this is something we need to fix for ourselves. There isn't always going to be somebody that can fix all my problems."
Brenda smiles happy that Lois wasn't going to give up on Ned that easily. She steps away from the bed and reaches her hands out to Lois. Lois puts her hands in Brenda's and Brenda pulls her up off the bed.
"C'mon, no more tears. We're gonna have some fun tonight. Whatever you wanna do, we're gonna do it and have a blast. Now what would you like to do?"
Lois laughs, "First I want to go shoppin' and then we are hitting the casino! Just us, no men allowed! Does that sound like a plan that you can handle?"
SnBforever1: Brenda laughs and shakes her head at Lois.
"A plan I can handle. You doubting my skills? Of course I can handle it. Now c'mon let's go."
The girls run out the door and head up to the mall area of the ship. Brenda spots a sparkling, midnight blue satin gown and falls in love with it instantly. She rushes over to it and gets a closer look at it. She had never seen anything more lovely until now, not even in the fancy expensive stores of Paris.
Brenda runs over to Lois, takes her hand and drags her over to the gown.
"Oh my God, Lo. Look at this. Isn't it wonderful."
Brenda smiles brightly and laughs.
"I'm gonna try it on."
Lois rolls her eyes and watches as her friend makes a dash for the dressing room. She wanders around a little bit and sees a red dress, that is very similar to the one that Brenda had taken a fancy too, the only difference being the color. She holds it up to her and smiles as she realizes that the dress goes perfectly with the red highlights in her hair. She takes the dress off the rack and heads into the fitting room. She screams out to her friend,
"Bren, I'm trying on the perfect dress for formal night...
Don't leave without me."
Brenda laughs at her friend, she would never leave without her, well...unless she was mad at her.
Brenda gets the dress on and walks over to the mirror. She smiles loving the way it looks on her. She sure to knock Sonny's socks off in this dress. She would go as far to say that it was by pure luck, fate even, that the dress was there waiting for her to buy it. She carefully takes it off and gets dressed again. She takes the dress to the counter, pays for it and then waits for Lois.
Lois comes out of the fitting room and dashes over to her friend, with a huge smile on her face,
"Bren...you've gotta see the dress I just bought, it's to die for." She smiles teasingly and adds,
"Too bad you can't see it till formal night."
Brenda hits her friend on the shoulder and laughs.
Brenda frowns and begins to get upset.
"Thanks Lo. What a great best-friend you are. You see the dress I'm wearing yet you hide yours. Where's the fairness in that?"
She can't help herself any longer. She smiles at Lois and laughs.
"Just kidding, I don't mind waiting as long as you realize that it will never be a good as mine."
They laugh together as they head out the store.
Two days later, Lois looks at herself in the mirror and smiles, tonight was the night of the formal ball. Her and Ned had gotten things back on track, but things were still mildly stormy.
A knock on the door interrupted Brenda's thoughts of what the evening would hold. She rushes to the door and smiles as Sonny picks her up and swings her around, kissing her passionately.
