ROMANCE OR REVENGE?

In order to ruin Sonny’s life, A.J. must break Courtney’s heart!

This week, underdog A.J. Quartermaine finally sees an opportunity to get the upper hand on archenemy Sonny Corinthos—but do so, he must risk hurting the ganger’s half sister, Courtney. As Alexis, Janine and even Jax get roped into the war of hearts, will A.J. go the distance to achieve his vengeful goal… or will he discover a far more satisfying prize right under his nose?

Sonny Gets Violent!
As the week begins, Alexis and Jax intercept Sonny at AJ's apartment. Since the mobster has kicked in the door, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that he is blind with rage over his half sister’s whereabouts. The former marrieds plead with him to take a breath and count to 20.
Soon, though, another fight breaks out. When Jax squares off against A.J., Skye jumps to her half sibling’s defense. In turn, Jax slams the redhead for supporting A.J.’s twisted plot.
“Basically, Sonny took my kid, and I’m going to take his sister,” says Billy Warlock, in character A.J. “But I’m not keeping her prisoner. A.J.’s just doing what she wants.
“Of course, he’s getting a little out of it, too,” he adds. “The longer A.J. can continue to smoke and mirror the situation with her, the further ahead he gets with Sonny.”

Is A.J. Falling In Love?
So close to victory is A.J. that he feels no guilt whatsoever about taking advantage of Courtney’s feelings for him. “Guilt? Absolutely not. No way, no how,” insists Warlock. “Courtney is a means to an end. She is his ticket to getting even with the man who destroyed his life. He can’t feel any remorse for doing what he’s doing—at least now.

A.J. does like Courtney. Everything he is doing for her is genuine,” he continues. “He enjoys spending time with someone who sees him as a decent guy. He’s got a sanctuary in his penthouse with this girl. He’s going after Sonny, but he’s having a hell of a time doing it.”

In other words, by laying a trap for Sonny, A.J., in a way, could be sealing his own fate. “Any time that you enjoy something, you have a tendency to get comfortable,” Warlock theorizes. “When you get comfortable, your guard drops.
When your guard drops, you become vulnerable.

“A.J. does have a heart,” he adds. You’ll find that out.”

Has Janine Switched Sides?
The moment that Sonny learns that Courtney has surfaced, he bolts from A.J.’s place, leaving the conniver to wonder whether Janine double-crossed him and torpedoed their plan.

“He thinks Janine turned on him,” says Warlock. “Everything he’s worked for, he screwed up. He got caught with his hand in the cookie jar. Janine turned on him, or so he thinks.

“But A.J. is A.J.,” he adds. “He’ll regroup. He’ll bounce back. He’s like a superball. He thinks he has to come up with a whole new scheme to get to Sonny through Courtney. It’s like boxing. All I’m doing is counterpunching to what Sonny is not doing. Sonny doesn’t respect her, so I’m going to respect her. Sonny gives her this, I’m going to give her that, and more.”

Courtney Sounds Off!
When Sonny arrives at Janine’s safe house, Courtney tells him that she’s trying to escape the stronghold that he has on her. Though he insists that her boyfriend is bad news, she retorts that, on the night of the car accident with Gia and Elizabeth, only A.J. believed that she was innocent.

“Even though A.J. is using her to get to her brother, he is still giving her something she needs right now” says Alicia Leigh Willis, who plays Courtney. “A.J. has provided a safe haven.

She’s never been treated like this before. It’s nice to get away from her problems and be taken into this dream world.
“She’s taken care of herself for so long,” she continues. “She’s never had anyone protect her. Now she’s met this Prince Charming who is trying to sweep her off her feet. It’s like a fairy tale. She’s attracted to the whole package.”

Sonny Corners Skye & A.J.!
After cooling off, Sonny takes in Courtney’s words and pays a visit to Nikolas in hopes of learning what really went down the night of the car wreck. In talking with Liz, Sonny realizes that the accident wasn’t Courtney’s fault and gets mad at himself for doubting her.

Meanwhile, A.J. and Skye find themselves surrounded by Sonny’s goons. When he finally breaks free, A.J. sails to the boathouse to see Courtney. Alas, she is nowhere to be found!

Skye Takes A Prisoner!
A.J. promises Skye that nothing will stop him from going after Courtney, not even the threat of Sonny’s thugs beating him to a pulp. But Skye is a little more practical about things and, concerned for her sibling’s safety, locks him in the closet.

Why isn’t A.J. more concerned that he’ll wind up swimming with the fishes? “His attitude is, ‘What has Sonny done so far?’” offers Warlocks. “Plus, if I disappear, after everything that Sonny and I have been through, oh, please! We’ve left a bread-crumb trail so long, Sonny’s gone! I am so protected, it’s not even funny.”

A.J.’s Master Plan!
Later, Sonny tries to repair his relationship with Courtney by assuring her that he hasn’t harmed A.J. Of Course, he conveniently neglects to mention that, while he hasn’t flattened A.J., he has made it impossible for him to get anywhere near her – or so he thinks! It turns out, A.J. has one more trick up his sleeve.

“It’s ways too soon for A.J. to call it quits,” insists Warlock. ‘It’s like Hansel and Gretel leaving bread crumbs. That’s what A.J. is doing. He wants Sonny to find him each step of the way, but A.J. is leading him somewhere.”

Skye continues to attempt to protect AJ from Sonny, from attempted to stop AJ from seeing Courtney. But AJ wants Sonny to follow him, and it is working, Sonny continues to fall into his trap.
AJ realizes that he is falling in love with Courtney, but he won't let that stop him for his plans against Sonny.
Luke makes an announcement.
