Sonny has just finished talking to Jax about Brenda. Jax has told him that Brenda was “gone”. He already knew that, but in his heart he hoped that she was out there somewhere waiting for him.

He goes to Luke’s and walks upstairs to their old apartment, which was now vacant. No one ever knew that every once and awhile he would come here to think about her, especially on the days that meant something to them. This place was more private than the docks and held many more memories.

He opens the door and he can almost feel her presence in the room. Every time he expects her to come running in welcoming him home, but she never does. Instead he walks over to the window and looks out.

He remembers the first time they made love, in Washington D.C.

Sonny takes Brenda's hand in his.

S: "You're shaking."

B: "I can't seem to help myself with you."

S: "This time it's dofferent. No turning back.

"B: "I won't break a promise.

Sonny and Brenda make love throughout the night affirming their love for eachother the closest way two people could. It was passionate, it was full of desire and it was love.

First thing I'd do, is pray for time to crawl
Then I'd unplug the telephone and keep the tv off
I'd hold you every second
Say a million I love you's
That's what I'd do with one more day with you

Then he remebers the first time he saw her after leaving her at the alter.

S- You don't always want what makes you happy. Sometimes you go for that thing that takes you higher or lower than you've ever been .

B- Yeah and hopefully you grow up. I was 18 when I fell in love with you. (they laugh) I was such a kid. You definitely taught me something that I really wanna forget. You taught me somethings I'll hold on to forever. You were really loving and generous with me, you were also pretty vicious and cold. You did teach me one thing though. You taught me a very important lesson. No matter how much you love someone you cannot change them, they have to wanna change themselves. I grew up loving you and then you left me and now I'm letting you go. We were so beautiful weren't we?

S-Yeah now we're just done.

He wipes the tears that have fallen down his face. She’s “gone” and “isn’t coming back”, he hears Jax’ words over and over again trying to really understand them. The only thing that gives him comfort is to know that he loved her and she loved him even if it was only for a short time. To him any time with her was better than no time at all. Before he walks out he turns around and whispers “I love you Brenda, I always will”.
