Love

 

“Not yet, but I intend to. And I need to know that you are willing to be part of what I call a family.” Jax kissed her cheek and looked into her eyes.

“Yes, your family is amazing and I would be honored to be married into them later on.” Carly smiled at Jax and wrapped her arms around Jax’s neck. “I found my Courage.”

Jax pulled back and looked at her. “Carly...I love you.”

She smiled and nodded her head. “I love you Jasper Jacks, you have me. And is the WHOLE package, so good luck! I’ll keep you on your toes.”

He laughed and hugged her tightly. “I know, that’s why I love you so much.”

Carly ran her fingers along the frame of the painting and smiled at Lady Jane. “I like this one, but I don’t know. I don’ think it fits, do you?”

“No, your club is more majestic then flashy this just doesn’t work.” Lady Jane smiled at Carly. They had been spending the week together. Having family dinners and spending time with Michael who was an amazing little boy and she could already see that Jax was rubbing off on him.

Carly looked at her watch. “Oh look at the time, we are suppose to meet Jax and your Husband in 10 minutes. Let’s go.”

“You know Carly, I am really glad you found the strength. I can see the change in Jax already. He is a very lucky man to have you in his life.”

“Yes she is.” Jax wrapped his arms around Carly who was smiling at him.

“To bad his ego was so large.” Carly started to laugh as Jax began to tickle her. “STOP!” She continued to laugh which only fueled Jax’s pleasure. She spun around and started to tickle him back. “How do you like your own medicine!”

“OK!” He held up his hands. “I surrender, for now.”

“Good! What are you doing here anyway?” Carly looked at him.

“Well, I thought I would come pick up my two favorite lady’s. Jerry is already there with Dad.” He watched as Carly pleaded at him with his eyes. “I promise he’ll be good. But I know you love him!”

“Yes, love him like a migraine! Sorry Lady Jane but Jerry just...”

“I know my dear, he does it to most females.”

Carly smiled for the most part dinner had been wonderful. She was eating her desert when she spotted her Mother come in. “Oh...no.”

Jax leaned over to her. “What’s wrong?”

“Straight ahead.” Carly watched as her mother spotted her mom and walked over towards them.

“Mom! Hi.” Carly looked around the table and stopped at Jerry who was looking at her mother.

“Carly. What are you doing?” Bobbie smiled at Jerry and felt her shiver.

“I...”

“I invited Carly to spend the day with us. Would you care to join to us?” Jax squeezed Carly’s hand.

“Oh...no...I’m just so surprised to see you all here. Jerry.”

“Barbra.” Jerry smiled at her and looked back at Carly who was trying to stay calm.

“Carly, can I talk to you?”

Carly looked around the table and nodded. “Excuse me.” She stood up with pure confidence and followed her mother.

Jax followed her as she left and smiled. She was strong and he saw that as she stood up. Jax looked at Jerry who was shaking his head. “What?”

“I never realized this but Carly, she’s strong. I always remember Bobbie going on and on about Carly and seeing her now, she isn’t anything like her mother said.”

“What Momma?”

“What are you doing? Do you not realize that Jax was almost related to you?”

“YES! But that was then and this is now! I care about Jax and I am not backing down because of what happened with you. I love him.”

“Oh...Carly you don’t know what love is.”

Carly stiffened her shoulders and looked at her mother squarely in the eyes. “I know what love is and the way that you doubt me is not love! Jax isn’t a Sonny or Jason, he’s this amazing man that makes me feel ALIVE! He isn’t after something and he doesn’t expect me to be someone I’m not! He loves me for ME! Why the hell can’t you be happy! You know I finally have my son to myself and we are getting along GREAT! And...I have a club...a club that is making the new EVERYWHERE! And then I have Jax, Jax and his whole family who are nothing like I have ever felt before! I am finally part of a family Momma! Please, just trust me on this one, I’m not about to mess it up, this is it...this is the one. I love him.”

Bobbie’s eyes softened as she listened to her daugther’s words. “I’m sorry. I just get worried about you.”

“Well, don’t be. I have your jeans in me, and that makes me a Spencer, and we don’t fall down. I love you, now would you care to join us?”

“No, I couldn’t handle being around Jerry. You have fun with your Jax.” Bobbie hugged her daughter before walking off.

Carly smiled and looked back at the table who were all looking at her. She smiled again and walked proudly back to the table.

Jax leaned forward and looked at her. “Everything OK?”

“Oh yeah, she just wanted to know if she could take Michael out to see a movie, she wanted to make sure it was me. She was just shocked to see all of you.” Carly let out a sigh and smiled at Jerry.

Months had past since Carly had confessed her love for Jax and they were going strong. They had just come home from a visit with Lady Jane and John in Alaska. Michael had loved it there and had a lot of fun with John.

Carly looked at Jax who was tucking in Michael. “Well, Mr. Man I will see you in the morning be good.” She kissed his forehead and smiled.

“Good night Momma and goodnight...Dad.”

Carly’s eyes filled with tears as Michael called Jax his father. She looked at Jax who was smiling at Michael.

“Good night.” He kissed his forehead before leading Carly down stairs. “Didn’t expect that one.”

“I’m sorry.”

“Don’t be, there is nothing more then I would want then for Michael to trust and look up to me. I love that little boy, almost as much as I love his mother.” Jax flashed her his smile and winked. “Carly there is something that I need to ask you.”

Carly licked her lips and looked Jax. “What?”

“You know I love you right?”

“Yeah, you know I love you right?”

Jax nodded his head and got on one knee. “Caroline, will you make me a better man by marrying me and becoming Mrs. Jasper Jacks?”

Carly nodded her head. “Yes.” She pulled him onto her and started to kiss him. “Yes.”

Jax grabbed her hand a slipped the engagement ring on her finger. “My love.”

Carly caressed his face and nodded. “My love.” She brought his hand to her hear and her’s to his.

Jax pulled her close with his other hand and started to kiss her passionately.
