Rex struggles to make hid payments to RJ, so he and Roxy scheme to burn down Foxy Roxy's, but the community center ends up getting torched. Rex and Roxy work on the house of love project as part of their community service; Rex grows closer to Shannon MacBane, but is still in love with Jen; Rex recruits Paul Cramer for a job with RJ, but things don't go as planned when Paul gets Natalie involved; Rex earns the money to pay back RJ after he rescues Asa; Someone murders Paul, and Rex is high on the suspect list; Rex hides the murder weapon to protect Natalie; Shannon leaves town; Rex is arrested for the murder, but is released when there is not enough evidence; Rex tries to protect Jen from getting arrested, and vows that he will find the killer; Rex steals the file from Bo.
