Time is short, but I'm hoping to see us through The minutes are ticking, I'm overwrought I'm hanging by a moment here with you We hid in moments and no one knew Still, I can see our end, it's one I can spot Time is short, but I'm hoping to see us through The time for our decision is overdue I keep grabbing for time that can't be bought I'm hanging by a moment here with you I don't want to let you go, it's true But my hope and feelings are all I've got Time is short, but I'm hoping to see us through You are the only one I wish to pursue But like time, you may never be caught I'm hanging by a moment here with you We have a bond time cannot undo You are in my each and every thought Time is short, but I'm hoping to see us through I'm hanging by a moment here with you |

I began writing this poem as a Valentine's day present for Kevin, but it took me so long to perfect, that it actually became a "welcome home from the Scouts" present. I finished it about seven months after I started it. My favorite poem is "Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night" by Dylan Thomas. That particular type of poem is called a villanelle. I wanted to write one as well. So, I set out to write one. If you are familiar with Lifehouse, or just pop music in general, you will recognize a line, if I were ever to get this published, I would, of course, have to get rights to the line. But since I'm not, it is just here for you to read. I'm pretty proud of my work. Kevin was as well. He gave me my greatest honor yet by framing my poem and mounting it on his bedroom wall. | |||||||
