I see your pain,
Your sorrow.
I see them in your eyes.
But I can do nothing.
I am of no help.
I cry for you.
I feel your pain.
But it does nothing.
Except build me a palace,
A palace of sorrow.
For you and me,
And our entire being.

This poem, like many of the others, is a sad one.  My mom read some of my poems and was dismayed to see that they had a sorrowful theme. Anyway, this poem came about one night when I was riding with Nile in his car. He has an awful time with cars. Truly, it is amazing how much can go wrong with his cars. We were on our way home and we had to pull over cause something went wrong with the car he was driving at the time. He looked so exausted and frustrated. There was nothing I could do. And this is the result.
