I have a really good friend. She is one I will always defend. Amy is her name, short and sweet. She is the nicest person you'll ever meet. I have known her all my life. We have been through many toils and strife. I love her as if she were my sister. She's always here, but not an annoying blister. Amy is a wonderful soul. She is strong with lots of self-control. She's outgoing and full of wit. If you need her she'll be there lickety-split. Amy is wise, smart, and strong. She's awesome to have life long. She's always there to lend a helping hand. She is not one to let things be bland. Amy is a great and loving pal. She is upstanding with a great morale. Amy knows who she is. She is ready for every pop quiz. She is a beautiful person. She won't let a situation worsen. Amy keeps secrets to herself. You will never hear about her shelf. Amy has many achievable dreams. Watch her achieve them as she gleams. She is a willful young lady. She will still be going when she's eighty. I love her; she's my confidant. She's my buddy, someone I joyfully taunt. Amy is my chum, my supporter. She's the one and only, made-to-order. Without her I could not live. She is one I always forgive. She holds a huge place in my heart. She and I will never be apart. 1998 |

Talk about annoying poetry. It takes rhyming to an ultimate low. This poem is pretty straight-forward. I believe I wrote it for Amy when she was gone at Girl's State. It paints a pretty good portrait about Amy though. However, I must be honest in saying that my feelings did change. We aren't as close as we used to be, and for that I am truly sad. But I know in my heart, that no matter what happened, this poem was true at one point. | |||||||
