Session 31: “Mummy and Daddy”

1500 – The party completes its exploration of the first level of the tower, slowly working down to the second level. They enter a long hall of sarcophogi, some of which are trapped and others have ancient relics in them. The party is attacked by a pair of mummies that leap out of the coffins at opposite ends of the hall. Even though the mummies are joined by a handful of specters, they are driven off and defeated by the party with the aid of celestial brilliance spells. Riven disappears. As the party continues further into the tower, Cerrick disappears down a chute that leads outside to a 150’ drop to the rocks below. The party continues without him and explores further into the level.

Session 32: “Watch out for Mr. Stitches!”

1600 – As the party reaches the third level down, they run into a number of giarillons, who seem to be enslaved into cleaning the place up. They meet Hunrad, a trapped Vrock Demon. While he tries to plead for his release, the party is ambushed by a trio of advanced flesh golems. After the golems are defeated, the party is attacked by a Creature made up of tombstones (Stone Golem). After these attacks, they break into a room full of tanning vats where the two mummies escaped to. The group finally crushes the mummies and sieze their magical items.

Session 33: “Can’t we all just get along!?”

1700 – Extending into the fourth floor, the group meets still more giarillons and controlled creatures. As they continue down to the last floor, they move through a series of chambers into a long hallway. In the hallway, they are assaulted by magical symbols and summoned creatures. Through the last door, the party enters a crematorium where an old lady stands to greet them. The old lady starts to converse with them, but combat ensues. Things seem deseparate when the column of flame turns out to be an elder fire elemental. Darius dispels the elemental, the Hag and her minions are struck down, and Riven returns and destroys the Vrock in single combat.

Session 34: “Dude. You just got your ass kicked by a door!”

1800 – The party returns to the temple and rests. Once rested, they teleport out to the temple to try to attack the Hags at the source.

0900 – The party invades the temple without Eve, who has some meditating to do before following. They encounter a new, intelligent door that attacks them with spells of fire and summoned creatures. After passing the door, they encounter walls of force that poses the questions “Who, What, When, Why, and Who.” Wrong answers lead to characters getting teleported to a chamber of darkness where a dark altar holds a black, egg-shaped object.

Session 35 “Paladin: It’s what’s for dinner”

0930 - The party moves further on to the grand entrance to the main chapel, where they are stopped by a blood fiend. The party is struck down by the Fiend’s power, but Eve appears in time to save the party from its murderous intent. However, the paladin is struck down by the Blood Fiend and dragged into the inner temple. As combat continues, the party pushes into the main chapel, where the Paladin’s sword lays on the Central altar. They see one of the Hags conducting a ritual under the supervision of Demons, but are unable to stop her in time to prevent her from summoning what appears to be the God Tharzidun. As is usual after a long day of breaking and entering, they flee.

Session 36: “Showdown at the OK Corral”

1100 – The Party looks out over the city and observes Tharzidun’s Avatar tearing up the city. Cerrick returns from the dead, no-one is surprised. They also notice fog generating around the Island of the Kluns’. When they teleport to investigate, they discover the Kluns in their home trying to work the portal at the top of the light tower. Also with them is Nulare. The party assaults the family of assassins, and succeeds in killing all three and Nulare, but not without Darius’s arm getting severed at the shoulder. At the end, they are able to recover the Dragon’s Phylactery.

Session 37: “Touchdown”

1500 – The Party calls on the Dragon, Occhronustinrist, to attack Tharzidun’s avatar and keep him busy while they travel to Archeron and try to re-summon him to another plane. They then use the gate in the Klun’s Tower to travel to a portion of the Shadow Plane that appears to be a large hedge maze surrounding a vast pool of water. In the center of the pool is araised platform where some demonic fiends are playing a full-scale game of battle chess. The party tries to bargain with the fiends for the Orb of Oblivion that they guard. It is only with the sacrifice of the Paladin (Death #4) that the Daemons are willing to part with the orb.

The party quickly returns to the prime material. Alexander takes on the dangerous mission of trying to hurl the artefact into the maw of Tharzidun, and is succcessful. They then travel to Archeron, where they materialize in a huge penitentuary. They are immediately surrounded by curious demodands. Battle ensues under the party’s usual policy of “Shoot first, ask questions later.” The Gate is opened, summoning Tharzidun’s vast avatar into the plane. The party narrowly escapes being crushed by his descending bulk. Finally, Darius opens one last gate to the Prime, landing the party on the shores of Algarond. The campaign’s goals are achieved and the game ends.
