Session 3: "The Cat’s in the Bag" or "Aw, Rats!"
    • It was looking to be a normal day in Uthmere. Niclaus was nursing a cramp in his hand after filling out another round of paperwork. Crate was showing off his new maul that he’d been saving money for. And Chaz spent some time with the Red Knights, practicing forms and fishing for information on his missing brother.
    • Ivaeleus was passing a pleasant day in his camp outside the city walls when he felt a strange presence. When he finally located the source, he found himself staring eye-to-eye with a large humanoid cat. Once trust was established, the cat-man identified himself as Kite. He was a pet/servant for a man named Ian. Ian enjoyed watching Kite hunt for his food, and eventually began making Kite hunt stranger and stranger creatures. Finally, he set Kite on the trail of some bizarre thing that he simply refused to pursue. In anger, Ian hurt Kite (a lightning bolt spell?), which drove him to flee into the woods. The only other person Kite has ever encountered is Ian’s brother, Crimble.
    • Ivaeleus went into town to bring Niclaus to help Kite. After he got over his initial shock and surprise, Niclaus escorted Kite into the city and the Crockpot. Kite has since found that halfling food is much tastier than what his old master made him eat, and very much easier to catch.
    • Niclaus also asked the party to help him on an investigation. He’d been assigned to look into a sighting of particularly strange rats. The group agreed, and set off for the Lord’s Troth.
