Impiltur

  • Impiltur is an old, strong land that has existed in one form or another along this coast for well over a thousand years. Impilturians settled much of Damara, the Great Dale, Thesk, and even the northern coasts of Algarond. On rare occasions, the kings of Impiltur have stood with the folk of these younger lands against threats from the east, such as the Red Wizards of Thay. However, Impilturians have a history of avoiding involvement in the troubles of other lands. The land of Impiltur is ruled by the COuncil of Lords and the country's monarch, Queel Sambryl.
Damara

  • Sharing only a small border with the Great Dale along the Rawlinswood, Damara has little to do with the lands of the Unapproachable East. Situated along the Northwest borders of the Great Dale; Damara is ruled by King Dragonsbane, a local paladin who is largely responsible for freeing the land from the tyrranny of the lich Zengyi over twenty years ago. King Dargonsbane's rule has been relatively stable since those days, and the dukes under him have worked hard to restore the kingdom over the last two decades.
Narfell

  • East of Damara, on the far side of the Giantspire Mountains, lie the frigid land of the Nar Horse Barbarian Tribes. Narfell was once the heart of an ancient empire that covered the lands of Narfell, the Great Dale, Thesk, and part of Thay. In those days, evil priests ruled Narfell, maintaining power through horrid blood-pacts with demon lords. This empire fell over 1,500 years ago in a climactic battle with its ancient enemy, Raumathar.
Rashemen

  • The kingdom of Rashemen lies across the eastern border of the Great Dale, across the icy Lake Ashane. Foreigners view Rashemen as a mysterious, magical land of harsh winters ruled by masked witches and populated by berserkers. And they're right. Caught between the warring nations of Narfell and Raumathar long ago, Rashemen is a place of ancient wizardry and powerful spirits tied to the land.
Thay

  • Best known for the crimson-robed Red Wizards who rule the land with an iron fist, Thay is a realm shrouded in mystery. Few outsiders have travelled extensively within its borders unless abducted and sold into a short life of slavery there. The Thayans who do talk about their homeland speak of it with such pride as to make most listeners doubt their amazing claims-were it not for the fact that these same rumors surface again and again from a dozen different sources. The Thayans have kept their armies at home these days, preferring instead to let their merhants sell valuable magic items in well-protected ennclaves in cities across the realms.
Thesk

  • Just south of the Great Dale, Thesk is for the most part a rural, lightly settled nation. Its main sources of revenue are farming and providing services to travellers along the famous Golden Way. This well-maintained road starts in Telflamm, crosses the River Flamm, and stretches all the way through Thesk and east through Rashemen, the Great Wastes, and ends in distant Kara Tur. The Golden Way is a major trade artery, the existance of which has brough great wealth to the land.
