LESSON PLAN REPORT

INTRODUCTION:-

A discussion on this problem was done on an FM radio station, then I had a discussion on this with my students who expressed interest in finding out. Our collaborative group had already discussed this issue. A questionnaire was then designed with the help of students and a lesson plan thereby drawn by the teachers in collaboration with the students. A successful lesson was carried out and students went out for the data.

WHAT WENT WELL:-

Students participation was more than excellent. They understood the project and helped in all aspects to make it really a success.

UNEXPECTED PROBLEMS:-

We had in mind to allow the students to enter their results directly on the computer so they could be analyzed automatically. It was a problem because of the rampant lights off and time factor.

CLASSROOM CHANGES

1.The time of the project was almost enough. Anybody who want to try this should not take the time for granted, more so when there are rampant power cuts, internet access not the best, at times down and at another time slow.

2.Students must be well organized when going out to collect the data else they may cause some disturbances.

3.Students took interest in the work, but realized they were ignoring other duties. Students should be made to stick to the project timeline so that, they do not use the time for other subjects on the project.

FEEDBACK

Students were cooperative and wanted the project to continue, since they were gaining a lot from it. A section of the members in the community, however did not understand what the students were doing and took their activities as nuisance. Meanwhile, other teachers supported us and commended it. Interested ones expressed their willingness to take part at one time or the other. There were commendations from the head of school and the other heads of departments for a goodwork done but cautioned us to do the other duties from time to time.

ASSESSMENT :

Students were assessed on three occasions.

1.They were asked to tell us why those spelling were wrong and use computer MS word to check whether their spelling were correct.

2.They were asked to tell us why the sentences constructed were wrong and also use MS word for that sentence construction.

3.They were asked to use the computer to compute the percentages using Excel.

Infact it isworth integrating technology into one’s teaching.
