ggwfung@hotmail.com -------------------------- POEM OF THE DAY (Issue 11) -------------------------- --- Monday, October 21, 2002 There is an eclectic supernal rustling about my ears That is the voice of tomorrow There is a jabbing puncture in my beating heart That is the pain of today There is a twinging tautness about my thighs and feet That is the presence of the past. Today, tomorrow, & the past all in one. --- Tuesday, October 22, 2002 The Alpha & the Omega The Beginning & the End. I have begun What awaits me now Is Death Black Death. I've sold my car Given my books, music, & things away Everything I own fits into a small black backpack I am ready for the final journey Death. I've said my goodbyes My family gave up on me a long time ago I've alienated all my friends All the ties are cut I am ready for the final step Death. I look out the window My final sunset I feel Strangely At peace I've come to the end of the road Death. --- Wednesday, October 23, 2002 A writer is someone who uses words A poet is someone who uses words AND line-endings OR A writer is someone who uses all of the page A poet is a someone an anyone it could be me or you who uses less than half the page --- Thursday, October 24, 2002 Waves & Oceans of Love The shore, the sand, the beach At last you're within reach It's been so long, my Love. Sounds & Whispers of Love The wing, the conch, the shell Only I hear you tell It's been so long, my Love. Thoughts & Feelings of Love The heart, the mind, the eye I embrace you, and sigh It's been so long, my Love. --- Friday, October 25, 2002 Like strangers we pass On the street In the elevator I've seen you, & you've seen me But we lower our eyes, uneasy. Why do I not say a word? Why do you not wave hello? We are not strangers, really, afterall. You're my sister, I'm your kin Both sparks of light. Next time I'll stop, & say hello Chat about life, & other things. Until then, this message I'll send By the fastest sine wave I have I hope you're listening out there!
