In May 98 Lance went to his first dog show at Gwinear. He came 2nd in the Any Variety puppy out of over 20 entrants. He loved it in the ring and that was it, we were both hooked. Our next show was when he was 9 months old, it was at Royal Cornwall Show. Over the next 3 months we went to many shows collecting lots of rosettes and cups. Lance's best win was 3rd in the Terrier group at the Truro Canine Society show when he was 15 months. I stopped showing Lance when he was about 5 years old when he no longer enjoyed it in the ring. He won well over 100 rosettes.
Lance is fantastic being a typical Airedale he did not start growing up until he was about 7 years old. He is great with other dogs and people. He is now on painkillers to help him as he has arthritis in his back but at the moment he seems fine and you wouldn't know anything was wrong.
