Here is the place where you can discover how Mancherster United's badge has changed over the 129 years it has existed.

Here are the pictures of the badges as they developed, and the meanings behind each one.

The Manchester Coat of Arms:

This badge was worn on the original Newton Heath shirts, and then once it changed, on final shirts up until the late 1970's.

The badge is still worn today on United blazers.

The latin words 'Concilio Labore' mean wisdom and effort.
The Manchester United Badge:

This badge 'borrowed' the centre part of the Manchester Coat of Arms. The ship represents the city's trade, and the three yellow stripes represent the three local rivers, on which the citizens of Manchester relied on for their trade.

It was used throughout the 1960's.
The Manchester United Badge:

In 1973, the red devil arrived on the club's badge. It was the only thing on the badge to have changed since modifications were last made.

During the mid 1980's, Addidas replaced the two curls on the top with a pair of football boots, but this was short lived, and the curls were back.
The Manchester United Badge:

1998 saw the final changes to the badge being made. The only modifications to the badge were colour- the footballs were now totally filled in yellow, and there was a shadow added to the edge of the shield.

This badge has remained the club badge right up to the present day.
