| One story I'm working on is set on a colonized planet that now has a dying sun. The world will eventually be an uninhabitable frozen planet. Inhabitants are doing everything they can to survive until rescue ships can arrive from other colonized systems. |
| This structure is from this story. It is self contained: It has it's own power system as well at waste treatment. It is also hyper-insulated to protect it's inhabitants from the extreme climate and it is armored to protect agains airborne projectiles that are often caught up in great windstorms that often exceed 200mph winds. |
| Thus it enters the story, battle damaged and weather worn, as the home of one of the prominently featured characters, an old recluse. |
| Prior to the "Resource Wars" faught to control and/or acquire the remaining natural resourses, many (46) of these 'Mobile Command Posts' were deployed under the guise of 'weather tracking stations'. The war long since over, these buildings were stripped of hardware, and sold off as military surplus. |
| The building is movable, though not under it's own power. It can be towed from one location to another. It requires an anchor post that is set into the ice. There are two large arms that will attach from the anchor post to the two sockets visible at the corners of the sloped end of the building. |
