Gfy started as an idea that began with Clay Thomas and Blake Stanley. After watching Jackass the Movie, they thought it would be cool to film their own movie of stunts and pranks for other people to see. After telling their friends about their idea, Bryant Lambert and Tucker Duncan thought it also sounded like a good idea and decided to join the crew as well. Shortly after that, Jesse Spurlock and Zak Dugger joined. Filming began with a camera that was mainly used for taking pictures but could also make short one minutes movies. After filming almost 3 hours worth of one minute movies and seeing that they could not be used like the crew wanted them to be, Clay purchased a camera. After that, filming took place every weekend for almost 6 months. During this time Jordan Clem was added to the crew. He also had a camera and was more than likely the best addition to the crew. Since they now had two cameras, filming doubled and after it was all done they ended up with 13 hours of footage. After a 2 month editing process, the 13 hours of footage was turned into a two and a half hour movie which was called Gfy The Movie. The movie was full of controversy because of the language and acts. Sales at school were cut due to a "concerned parent" calling the school and complaining about the "x-rated" movie. All in all the movie was well recieved by the crew's peers and sold fairly well. The Crew is now filming for Gfy The Sequel and is planning to release a movie title Buford sometime before 2005. Look for both of them. |
