| The gladitorial game, "Overthrow," a sport that pitted one noble's slave versus another noble's slave against one another in mobile suits to the death, had become increasingly popular. Unbeknownst to the other nobles, Lathander Alexandrion Himself fought in these games rather than risk the life of a slave or peasant, and upon reaching the final tier of the Championship of Earth, instead of slaying his opponant, he showed mercy. He then proclaimed to all there to witness it who he truely was: Lathander Alexandrion Himself, no some lowly slave of His family. This news, that this "sport" cold have ended the life of the people's beloved Lathander Alexandrion, caused the abolishment of "Overthrow" as a sport. Thus the peasants of every land came to know Lathander as the Merciful, and some even thought of him as a god. The nobles, though angered at the loss of their sport, respected Lathander and let it pass, for their peasants outnumbered them, and a revolt could be devastating.. |
