As Trunks and Goten flew from home, looking for the dragonballs, they had a strange sense of urgency. They needed to bring Vegeta back to life because he was one of the strongest warriors the Earth had ever seen, other than Goku. Goku was training with the Supreme Kai, and couldn't be disturbed. That's why they chose Vegeta. Even though he was weaker than his rival, Goku, he was still stronger than all the other Z-Fighters combined.
"Hey, Goten. What dragonballs do we have so far? I know we only need a couple more which ones do we have?" Trunks asked Goten.
"Let's see we have the one-star, two-star, three-star, my four-star, the five-star, and the seven-star dragonballs. We only need the six-star dragonball. Wow! We are sooooooo close to bringing all the dragonballs together. Which dragon are we calling, again?" Goten asked.
"I'm not quite sure. I don't know if my father has come back before, so I don't know if we can use The Eternal Dragon or not. We'll leave that decision for my mommy and your mommy.
Trunks is only 8 years old, and Goten is 7. Even though Goten is a year younger than the other demi-saiyajin, he wasn't that much weaker. They both could go super-saiyajin, but Trunks was just a bit stronger.
Goten had a specialty for solving puzzles. He had to know how; he didn't have his father around when he was born. Gohan was a little bit of help, but he wasn't sure how to help the demi-saiyajin. Ever since Goten was born, everyone knew he'd have to figure things out for himself. They all said he was a special child, but they didn't know how right they were.
Goten was able to go super-saiyajin at a very young age. Not even Gohan could do that; he was formerly the youngest saiyajin to go super-saiyajin. Trunks and Goten had been friends ever since they'd been born. Nothing separated them; they fought enemies together, they slept at each other's houses, they'd even spar together. They were practically inseparable. They were the best of friends, and nothing was going to change that.
"Goten, do we have any idea as to where the last dragonball is? I mean, I don't. Do you?" Trunks asked, sounding annoyed. They had been searching for the dragonballs for two weeks now. Bulma, Trunks' mother, had given them a Dragonball Finder, a device that detects the dragonballs, wherever they may be. However, Trunks and Goten got in a little fight with a kid that was harassing them. The kid kicked Goten when he wasn't looking, and knocked the Dragonball Finder off his waist. It shattered, breaking into a million pieces. As soon as that happened, Trunks knocked the kid out, just like his father had done to him when Majin Buu threatened the Earth.
"Sorry, Trunks. I don't know where that last dragonball is. Hey! I've got an idea!" Goten shouted.
"So, is that why there is steam coming out of your ears? Don't hurt yourself, Goten." Trunks replied. Trunks was kidding, of course, and Goten knew it. He always knew when Trunks was kidding around, and he never took offense to any statement Trunks made.
"Hey, that's a first, isn't it, Trunks? Ha, ha, ha. Why don't we fly back to Capsule Corp. and get a new Dragonball Finder thing-a-ma-jig? It's not too far away. We could go super-saiyajin, and be home by nightfall tonight. Why don't we do that?" Goten asked.
"Goten, listen to me. My mom is counting on me to bring back all seven dragonballs. If we come home with only six, she'll flip her lid. She needs dad back; everyone does, and they are all counting on you and me. Do you remember when mom told us that she and Goku were searching for the dragonballs when they were younger? They didn't have that funny gizmo, and they found them all. Mom isn't even a saiyajin, and she found them. If she can do it without that strange gadget, then we can too!" Trunks replied.
"So, uh, Trunks, is that a yes, or a no?" Goten asked.
"Goten, just follow me. We aren't going home. We are going to find that last dragonball if it's the last thing we do."
Soon, after some fast flying, they came upon a town. They landed about a mile away, so that none of the people in the town became suspicious of them. They entered the town, and came upon a young man sitting on the side of the road, tying up a horse to a pole. They went up to the man, tapped him on the shoulder, and asked him what the name of the town is. He told them that they are in Wyomington, a place right by the ocean.
"Have you seen a round, orange sphere anywhere? It has six dots in it. Have you seen it?" Trunks asked.
"Oh, do you mean (hold's up the six-star dragonball) this thing?" the man asked.
"Goten, look! He's got it! Um, sir, may we have that shiny ball around your neck?" Trunks asked.
"Sure, but first, you have to solve a riddle. Are you game? the man replied.
"Goten, this is your field. Do you wanna do it?"
"Trunks, if it will help us, sure. What is the riddle?"
"The riddle is this: There is a square house. Each side faces south. Each side has one picture window. A bear walks by; What color is the bear?" The man asked.
"Hmm if all sides face south, then the house must be at the North Pole. If the house is at the North Pole, then the bear must be a polar bear. Polar bears are white. That's it! The bear is white!" Goten said.
"Wow! No other person has gotten that riddle right you are a true riddle-man. Here is your prize." the man said.
"Goten, how did you get so smart? I'm, uh, sorry. Sorry for making fun of you when you had that idea. Sorry." Trunks said.
"Trunks, it's not that I'm so smart, it's just that I stay with problems longer. It's okay that you made fun of me; I knew you were kidding." Goten explained.
Now that they had all the dragonballs, they could finally go to the place where they longed to be: home. As soon as they got out of the town, they both went super-saiyajin, and flew at top speed on the way to home.
