And what is ferrocement? According to the American Concrete Institute: "Ferrocement is a type of thin-wall reinforced concrete commonly constructed of cement mortar reinforced with closely spaced layers of continous relatively small wire diameter mesh ..........." Historically ferrocement have had very wide application in marine structural system both in long span and highrise constructions. In the Philippines we have used BETON PANELS where speed of construction and economy were critical in the projects. PROPERTIES : Strength and Durability - Tight quality control in factory process gives high performance Characteristics such as high compressive and tensile strength, ductility and impact resistance. The bending of flat elements can also produce structural shapes to resist dead and live loads.
