What is "BETON PANELS"? - briefly it is ferrocement made to our own mix composition and 				              process. And what is ferrocement? According to the American
Concrete Institute: "Ferrocement is a type of thin-wall reinforced concrete commonly constructed of cement mortar reinforced with   closely spaced layers of continous relatively small wire diameter mesh ..........."

Historically ferrocement have had very wide application in marine structural system both in long span and highrise constructions.

In the Philippines we have used BETON PANELS where speed of construction and economy were critical in the projects.








PROPERTIES :

Strength and Durability - Tight quality control in factory process gives high performance     
Characteristics such as high compressive and tensile strength, ductility     and impact resistance.

The bending of flat elements can also produce structural shapes to resist dead and live loads.  

Lightweight and fast Erection - Because of its very thin section BETON PANELS  weight only 	
				from 6 to 15 pounds per square foot. Installation can be done by 
				mere annual labor.

PROPERTIES:

Architectural Finish - the usual integral finishes such as aggregate washout or bush - hammer 
Finishes are available. Aside from these we have new sculptured or textured finishes never yet tried in the Philippines.

Waterproof - Rotproof - Non - carcinogenic - ferrocement is so waterproof that it is used world 
		wide as boat hulls. Even oil tankers are made of ferrocement

MATERIALS PROPERTIES:

	The principal factors affecting properties of BETON PANELS are steel content, water - 
	cement ratio, matrix density, orientation of reinforcement and curing. Casting method is 
	also a major factor.
