Installation Ode

At the Almighty's voice deep night
Surrendered to refulgent light,
And harmony, began;
Throughout the soundless realms of space,
The mighty anthem roll'd apace,
Through every sphere it ran.

And man the sovereign over all,
The things on this terrestrial ball,
Received an influx then;
Which with wisdom love combined,
And formed that gem, the human mind,
Which stamps the race of men.

Oh, Adonai, let songs arise,
And reach thy throne beyond the skies,
The just, the great I Am,
Oh! may we feel in all our care,
That His kind spirit watches near,
To guard from every harm.
