The administration of Mayor Rey T. Uy has envisioned a local governance that is responsive to the needs of the Tagumeños.

      As he bats for quality public service, he also makes the City of Tagum a model to other LGU’s to encourage other government official to really give their best to their constituencies.

      The Engineering Service with its component asphalt plant (in the background) which was inaugurated last August 18, 2000, together with the Davao-type schools at Magugpo Pilot Central Elementary School and La Filipina High School are just a few of the porjects Tagum City can be proud of. They are manifestations of quality engineering which the mayor always talks about. No less than Senator Renato "Compañero" Cayetano described these projects as a showcase "of the best a Filipino can do for his community."

      It is also a strategy which other LGUs can emulate to remove the stigma attached to public service. With this, people will no longer smirk at government projects; instead, they would say, "Ito ang gobyerno!" proudly.
