1998 Porsche 911 GT1-R
Le Mans (996)
Out of production since the end of the 1998 season, Porsche's "ultimate weapon", the 1998 GT1, represented the most technically advanced racecar being produced by the Porsche factory's racing department. Unlike the 1997 GT1 which was based on the 993, this version with its "purpose built" carbon fiber chassis and carbon fiber bodywork, bore little resemblance to any street-going 911.
