1987 Porsche 959
Rallye
The rally version of the 959 is technically of the same standard as the road vehicle, and is therefore the most comprehensively equipped and technically demanding car in this motor sport discipline. In 1986 Metge and Ickx drove the improved 959 on the Paris-Dakar Rally and won the desert race. The two cars were able to play on all of their strengths on the desert course and remained totally unimpressed by the conditions on this the most difficult of all rallies. Porsche recorded a double victory with this high-tech car.
