Introducing Geri
I am big fan of
anime, manga, science fiction, and fantasy. Some of my favorite anime/manga
titles (just to name a few) are: Petshop of Horrors, Record of Lodoss Wars,
Tokyo Babylon, Wish, Demon Diary, Descendants of Darkness (Yami no Matsuei), Oh
My Goddess, Slayers, and anything by Hayao Miyazaki (creator of Princess
Mononoke and Spirited Away). Some of my favorite fantasy authors are Mercedes
Lackey, Marion Zimmer Bradley, Tamora Pierce, and of course J.K. Rowling.
These stories came about as a form of wish fulfillment: I started writing
fiction for Petshop of Horrors (referred to in the US as Pet Shop of Horrors)
because I wanted to see the relationship between D and Leon taken a step farther
than it is in the manga. As for the Snape and Lupin stories, they came about
because I sensed an odd dynamic between the two characters: the fact that Lupin
is always polite to Snape, no matter how nasty Snape is to him, and as for
Snape, I wondered if his obsession with trying to discover Lupin's secret as a
student might be something more than a simple attempt to get James Potter in
trouble. There is a thin line between love and hate, as the song goes, and it
seemed to me that the two complemented each other as a couple, with Lupin's
kindness and patience balancing out Snape's bitterness. Anyway, these stories
grew out of those imaginings, and I hope you enjoy them.
